Colorado has won its last five and improves to 12-2, its best start since the 2013-14 team started out 14-2.
 
Colorado improves to 4-5 in Pac-12 openers, winning its league opener for the first time since defeating UCLA 62-56 on Jan. 2, 2015, at the CU Events Center – also the last year CU opened the Pac-12 schedule at home.
 
Colorado improved to 2-1 on the season against ranked teams. The Buffaloes have faced three ranked teams in the first 14 games this season after facing none in 2018-19.
 
No. 4 (AP) Oregon is the highest ranked opponent Colorado has defeated since the Buffs took down No. 4 Arizona State, 90-81, on Jan. 4, 2018.
 
Colorado’s 19 wins over ranked opponents in Tad Boyle’s 10 seasons is by far the best in team history. Boyle coached teams, with a record of 19-32, have accounted for 30 percent of wins over ranked teams since 1949-50 (63).
 
Oregon led the Pac-12 and ranked fifth in the nation in 3-point percentage through games of Jan. 1 at 41.7 percent, but was held to just 3 of 18 (.167) on the evening.
 
Colorado committed just eight turnovers, its second-lowest of the season. The Buffs are averaging 11.0 turnovers the last three games.
 
McKinley Wright IV (21 points, 8 assists, 5 rebounds) became the eighth CU player to reach 400 career assists, moving into a three-way tie for sixth with 405, joining Donnie Boyce and Nate Tomlinson. His recorded his 13th career 20-point game and his 21 points puts his career total at 1,097, moving past Larry Vaculik (1974-78) for 29th on CU’s all-time list. Wright is averaging 18.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 6.5 assists the last four games.
 
Tyler Bey (15 points, 14 rebounds) recorded his sixth double-double of the season and 25th of his career, tying David Harrison (2001-04) for 11th on CU’s all-time list. He moved past Donnie Boyce (1991-95) and Jim Creighton (1970-72) into 18th in career rebounds at 656.
 
Shane Gatling (4 rebounds, 3 assists) recorded a season-high with four rebounds. Out of his 15 assists on the season, 11 have come in the last four games.
