Buffs Go Pro is a holistic career development program beginning student-athletes’ freshmen year. As student-athletes progress through the program, they can participate in a myriad of workshops, one-on-one coaching sessions, and professional networking to help them not only discover their passion, but have the tools and resources to turn that passion into any profession.

Career Components
 

Student-athletes meet with their LCD rep once a semester, every semester, to create their personal plan

Part- or full-time internships specific for CU student-athletes to work around the demands of being a student & athlete

First Program of it’s kind in the country! A comprehensive program focused on: brand management, entrepreneurial skills, and financial literacy where student-athletes walk away with a marketing and business plan

  • Small workshops where student-athletes and industry professionals get to connect and build professional relationships
  • Topics include: Pro Sports & Outdoor Industry, Sales, STEM, Medical and more!
  • Custom career platform unique to current and former Buff student-athletes
  • Student-athletes can find jobs, internships, access all Buffs Go Pro resources, RSVP for events, and schedule their 1-1 meetings all in one place!

Transition program for all first year student-athletes to address their unique academic, social, physical health, and emotional needs and multifaceted identities to support a successful first year in the classroom and their sport

The STEPS program provides opportunities for student-athletes to reflect upon and leverage their academic and athletic experiences at Colorado

Programming is developed and delivered in partnership with Psychological Health and Performance, and Health and Wellness to support the transition of all graduating Colorado student-athletes

Strategic and intentional academics for sophomores and juniors featuring workshops, community building, identity investigation and leadership facilitation sessions

Provide opportunities each semester to advance and foster a diverse and inclusive culture

Provide opportunities for student-athletes to enrich the lives of those we engage with through targeted programs and outreach, creating a positive impact on the state of Colorado, with an emphasis in the Front Range

A student-athlete led group dedicated to providing a voice for the interests and concerns of student-athletes

This committee focuses on areas such as leadership, service, diversity and inclusive excellence, university and alumni relations, career development and student-athlete life and welfare
