Potts Track & Field Policy

The University of Colorado Athletic Department wants all fans to have a safe and enjoyable experience for track and field events at Potts Field. The following policies and regulations are designed to be practical, functional, and to allow for the safety of our fans, student athletes and event staff. Our objective is to provide the best possible service and game day experience for all fans and guests of the Colorado Buffaloes.

The University of Colorado is committed to creating a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable sports & entertainment experience. The University of Colorado recognizes intercollegiate athletics as an important part of the student and alumni experience. We as fans should credit student athletes for their commitment to academic and athletic excellence and their efforts to compete within the rules of each sport. We also need to promote the Pac-12 Conference by upholding high standards of scholarship, competitive performance and spectator behavior.

The University of Colorado welcomes you as our guest to Potts Track & Field, you as college track & field fans have a right to expect an environment where:

  • Student-Athletes, coaches, and team personnel will respect and appreciate each and every fan.
  • Guests will be treated in a consistent, professional and courteous manner by all stadium and team personnel.
  • Guests will enjoy the track & field experience free from disruptive behavior, including foul or abusive language or obscene gestures.
  • Intervention with an impaired and intoxicated guest will be handled in a prompt and safe manner.
  • Guests will sit only in their ticketed seats and show their tickets when requested.
  • Guests will not engage in fighting, throwing of objects or attempting to enter the field, and those who engage in any of these actions will immediately be ejected from the venue.
  • Guests will comply with requests from stadium staff regarding stadium operations and emergency response procedures.

The venue staff has been trained to intervene where necessary to help ensure that the above expectations are met. Guests are encouraged to report any inappropriate behavior to the nearest usher, security guard or guest services staff member. Guests who choose not to adhere to these provisions will be subject to immediate ejection without refund and revocation of season tickets and may also be in violation of State Statutes or Municipal Ordinances resulting in possible arrest and prosecution. The University of Colorado thanks you for adhering to the provisions of the University of Colorado Fan Code of Conduct.

ALCOHOL

Alcohol can be purchased at designated vendor locations throughout Potts Field.  Individuals with unauthorized possession of alcoholic beverages, including anyone possessing alcohol under the age of 21, will be removed from the venue. Inebriated individuals will be denied admission to the venue. Such ejections are not grounds for refunds.

CONCESSIONS

Concessions are located on the west side of Potts Track & Field. Concessions will open when patron doors open and will remain open until the end of each competition day.

EMERGENCY NUMBER - 911

In case of medical emergencies this number can be used to reach our patrons attending the game. To expedite the process of locating a patron, please provide as much information as possible, including the seat location. (section, row, and seat number)

FIRST AID

Stadium Medical onsite on the south end of Potts Track & Field. Please find a working staff member if you need assistance and we can ensure to get medical personnel to support in any situation. We have an ambulance onsite if any transports are needed as well.

GATE TIMES/SECURITY SCREENING

Gates open 60 minutes prior to the first event. Prior to entering the venue gates, all patrons are subject to security screening, which may include walk-through metal detectors, electronic wanding & inspection of bags or other personal items. Also be sure to check out our list of Permitted and Prohibited items as well as our clear bag policy. There will be no lockers available onsite to check your belongings please plan accordingly..

LOST AND FOUND

All items found during and after the meet will be held at the NW Shed on the North end of Potts Track & Field. All lost items will be logged by Guest Services and can be reached at guestservices@colorado.edu or by calling 303-492-5318 weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

PERMITTED ITEMS

  • Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12” x 6” x 12”
  • One-gallon (or smaller) clear plastic Ziploc/freezer bag
  • Small clutch bags (no larger than 4.5” x 6.5” with or without a handle or strap
  • Medically necessary items after proper inspection at Entrances
  • Non-alcoholic beverages in approved factory-sealed plastic containers; 51 oz. / 1.5 liters or smaller (one per ticket holder)
  • Empty non-disposable water bottles; 51 oz. / 1.5 liters or smaller (one per ticket holder).
  • Umbrella Strollers; if larger they can be returned to vehicle or checked in at Guest Services
  • Seat cushions and chair backs must be 18” or less in width (no pockets, zippers or covers)
  • Small personal cameras
  • Binoculars
  • Service Animals
  • Blankets (subject to be unrolled and searched)
  • Batteries: Portable phone chargers and clothing with heating devices that include battery packs, such as heated socks, coats or blankets will be allowed. However, the restriction will be based off the battery pack: Lithium-ion battery packs with a maximum size of 3" x 6"x 1" allowed. Battery packs with AA, C or D cell batteries are NOT allowed.

PROHIBITED ITEMS

Potts Track & Field complies with all TSA and Homeland Security prohibited items lists.

In addition, prohibited items include:

  • Bags or containers larger than 12” x 6” x 12”
  • No bags permitted at all; includes backpacks, diaper bags and other similar bags
  • Clutches and purses must be the approximate size of the hand
  • Hard & Soft sided coolers of any size or style
  • Firearms or weapons of any type; including handguns carried in accordance w/ the Colorado Conceal & Carry Act
  • Selfie/GoPro Sticks, flags on poles, other types of sticks, poles or similar objects that can be used as a weapon
  • Fireworks, Drones or Laser pointers
  • Non-factory sealed beverages or filled liquid containers including all thermoses
  • Alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs (including medical marijuana, vape pens, cartridges or any other smoking paraphernalia)
  • Glass, metal bottles or cans
  • Full size strollers and car seat carrier
  • Umbrellas of any size
  • Artificial noise makers such as whistles, air horns, thunderstix or any other item used to make artificial noise.
  • Any unapproved signs or banners
  • Professional grade video or camera equipment (e.g. telephoto lenses), tripods, or monopods.
  • Footballs, frisbees, inflatable balls
  • Bikes, Scooters, Skateboards or skates
  • Pets / Animals (with the exception of service animals)
  • Any other item(s) deemed dangerous or unacceptable by security.
  • Electric or battery-operated apparel with AA, C or D cell batteries are NOT allowed
  • Laptops, iPads, GoPros or any other consumer electronics

RALPHIE’S GREEN STAMPEDE

Ralphie’s Green Stampede supports CU Athletics in implementing a sustainability framework that focuses on environmental impact, economic resources and social responsibility. Through conscientious gameday operations and stakeholder engagement, we empower all Buffs to have a positive impact on and off the field.

RESTROOMS

Restrooms are located west of Potts Track & Field.

SMOKING

CU-Boulder is a smoke free campus.

TICKETING INFORMATION

Ticket Booth Gameday Hours - The Ticket Booth will be open 60 minutes prior to the first event to handle ticket sales, will call, and any ticket issues. The Ticket Booth is located at the southwest corner of the venue and will remain open until roughly 60 minutes prior to the last event of the night. 

Will Call - Will call is located at the ticket booth. A valid photo ID is required.

Re-Entry - Is permitted by scanning your ticket out at the entrance and then scanning back in.

TICKET POLICY

  • All persons MUST have a ticket for admission into the stadium. Children age 3 and under will be admitted for free and do not require a ticket.
  • All seating is General Admission
  • All ticket sales are final.
  • Event times and dates are subject to change without notice. Such changes are not grounds for refunds or exchanges.
  • The University of Colorado reserves the right to revoke the license granted by a ticket by refunding purchase price.
  • Holders of tickets to University of Colorado athletic events agree to abide by Athletic Department and University policy, as well as local State and Federal laws.

WHEELCHAIRS

Wheelchair seating is available in designated areas. Please call the Ticket Office at 303-492-8337 in advance to purchase wheelchair seating. For wheelchair assistance email guestservices@colorado.edu well in advance of the game, or visit one of our guest services locations.
