Colorado follows a win with a loss for the fourth time this season. The Buffaloes haven’t put together back-to-back wins since the final game of the 2021-22 regular season (at Utah) and quarterfinal of the Pac-12 Tournament (Oregon) – a span of 10 contests.

Arizona State trims Colorado’s lead in the series to 14-11. The Sun Devils have won back-to-back games at Colorado for the first time in series history. CU’s series lead in Boulder drops to 9-3.

Colorado falls to 5-7 in all-time Pac-12 openers and 49-62 in all-time conference openers. The loss snapped a five-game winning streak in conference home openers.
Colorado fell for just the sixth time in 88 games (82-6) in the Tad Boyle era when holding its opponent to 40 percent or less from the field (.393) and a +8 or better rebounding margin (+13, 47-34).

Colorado lost for the first time at home allowing 60 or fewer points since a 56-54 loss to Utah on Jan. 8, 2016 – snapping a 30-game winning streak in those instances. The Buffaloes fall to 63-3 since 2010-11 when holding an opponent to 60 or less at the CU Events Center.

Colorado held Arizona to just 23 points in the first half, the lowest any team has scored against the Buffs in the first half all season. Colorado scored 38 points in the first half, the second most all season in the first half (54 vs Texas A&M the most).

Colorado falls for just the seventh time in the last 39 games when holding an opponent under 20 percent from 3-point range.

ASU was 0-13 from 3 in the 1st half. It’s the most 3-pointers by a CU opponent without a make since 1996-97 season. Next closest was Oregon State last season in Corvallis, 2/15/22, Beavers were 0-of-12 in the first half of that game.

KJ Simpson (13 points, 6 rebounds) continues his streak of eight straight games with double digit points. Led the Buffaloes in scoring for the fifth time this season.

Tristan da Silva (10 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks) recorded a career-high in rebounds and matched his personal best in blocked shots.
