Colorado-Richmond Notes

Colorado is 4-0 for the first time since the 2019-20 season. That season game No. 4 was a low-scoring neutral site win over Wyoming (56-41) in the semifinals of the Main Event in Las Vegas, a tournament the Buffaloes would win two nights later over an ACC opponent in Clemson (71-67).

Colorado improves to 122-37 (.767) in nonconference regular season games under head coach Tad Boyle including a 75-20 (.789) mark since the beginning of the 2014-15 season.

Colorado faced its first deficit of the season 6:03 into the game when Richmond’s Delonnie Hunt scored to give the Spiders an 8-6 lead. Richmond would end up leading for just 2:22 of the contest that stayed close throughout. Colorado’s largest lead was eventually nine, but didn’t get above seven until the final minute. Richmond never led by more than two points. The Buffaloes have led for 151:30 out of a possible 160 minutes this season.

Earlier in the day Colorado jumped seven spots to No. 18 in the Associated Press Top 25 poll, the Buffaloes’ highest ranking since hitting No. 18 on Feb. 7, 2020. Colorado debuted at No. 21 in this week’s USA Today Sports Coaches poll.
