Colorado-Miami Game Notes
Colorado improved to 1-1 against ranked teams in 2023-24. It was Colorado’s third-straight neutral site win over a ranked non-conference opponent and best since defeating No. 11 Tennessee in Nashville on Nov. 13, 2022.
Colorado’s 26 wins over ranked opponents in the Tad Boyle era is by far the best in team history. With a record of 26-47, Boyle coached teams have accounted for 37 percent of wins over ranked opponents (70) since 1949-50
Colorado improved its all-time record against Miami to 2-0; improved its all-time record at the Barclays Center to 2-1.
Colorado dished out 28 assists, its most away from home since recording 28 at Texas A&M on Feb. 26, 2002. This was Colorado’s fifth game of 20-plus assists, the most in one season since the 2010-11 team had seven. Colorado has won 30-straight when dishing out at least 21 assists and has won 77 of its last 81 dating back to the 1996-97 season.
Colorado shot 58.7 percent from the field, its fourth-straight games shooting at least 50 percent and seventh time above 50 percent in nine games. The Buffaloes shot 50 percent seven times in 35 games last season (6-1). It’s the first time Colorado has shot 50-percent or better in four-straight games since Jan. 5-16, 2010. Colorado improved to 100-8 in the Tad Boyle era (since 2010-11) when shooting at least 50 percent.

Tristan da Silva (22 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists, 2 steals) third career double-double and first this season, missing a triple-double by a single assist. Career high in assists, previous was five done last vs. Washington in the 2023 Pac-12 Tournament. Made a 3-point shot to break an 0-for-17 streak from beyond the arc in road games. Had a season-best nine field goals made which matched the team’s season-high.
Eddie Lampkin Jr (11 points, 5-6 FG, 3 assist) scored all 11 of his points in the first half. Made 5 of 6 from the field after having gone 3 of 10 the previous two games. Third double-figure scoring game in a CU uniform and most since 14 vs. Milwaukee.
KJ Simpson (20 points, 5 assists, 4 steals) fifth 20-point game and 12th of his career. Has scored in double-figures in all nine games. His four steals tied the team season-high (J’Vonne Hadley vs. Richmond). Moved into a tie for 27th place in career steals with 94 (Emmett Lewis, 1976-79). Has made 27 of his last 40 from the field (.675) including 7 of his last 9 from 3-point range (.778). Made both free throw attempts to extend his string of consecutive made free throws to 16.
Luke O’Brien (13 points, 5 rebounds, 4-6 FG, 3-4 3FG) season-high 13 points, just one off his career-best of 14. Made 3 of 4 from 3-point range after being just 3 for 14 from deep in the first nine games. Matched a career-best with his three 3-pointers made, reaching that mark for the fifth time in his career.
