Colorado-Seton Hall Notes

Colorado improves to 14-11 all-time in the NIT and advances past the first round for the seventh time in 13 appearances. The Buffaloes improve to 55-74 in all-time postseason play (including conference tournaments) and 26-29 on the national level (NCAA, NIT, CBI).
 
The Buffaloes will play the winner of New Mexico vs Utah Valley in the second round of the NIT, either Saturday or Sunday (Mar. 18-19). If New Mexico wins, Colorado will play the Lobos in Albuquerque. If Utah Valley wins, the Buffs will play the Wolverines in Boulder.
 
Colorado improves to 89-7 in nonconference home games in the Tad Boyle era, including a 7-1 mark in postseason play.
 
Seton Hall entered the game shooting 68.1 percent for the season, but had its second-best outing of the season from the line at 88.9 percent (16-18) against the Buffaloes.
 
Colorado had a season-low one steal.
 
Colorado made 10 3-pointers, hitting double-figures for the first time this season and first in back-to-back games. The Buffaloes are 20 of 41 from downtown the last two games (.488).
 
Luke O’Brien (8 points, 14 rebounds) his 14 rebounds were a career-high and his fifth double-figure effort of the season; three of those have come in the last five games. His 14 rebounds are the most by a Colorado player in a national level postseason event since Josh Scott had 15 against Gardner Webb in the CBI on Mar. 18, 2015. His 14 rebounds are the most by a Buffalo in the NIT (records aren’t available for 1938 or 1940).
 
Ethan Wright (18 points, 5 rebounds, 5-9 FG, 4-6 3FG) season-high 18 points and tied season marks for rebounds and 3-field goals made. The 18 points were his most since he scored 18 in his final game at Princeton, against VCU in the first round of the 2022 NIT. He has 25 3-pointers on the season, 11 of which or 44 percent – have come in the last six games. He has made 6 of his last 10 from 3-point range.
 
Tristan da Silva (15 points) has 544 points on the season, moving him into a tie for 15th place on CU’s single-season scoring list, joining Jaquay Walls (1999-2000) and Cliff Meely (1969-70).
