Colorado-Arizona State Notes
Colorado has dropped its last nine games, its longest streak since falling in the final 12 games of the 2008-09 season. It’s the Buffaloes first 0-9 start to a conference season since a similar 0-9 start in to the Big Eight 1986-87 (finished 3-11). The five-game home skid is the most since the 2008-09 team lost their final five at the CU Events Center.
Arizona State narrows Colorado’s lead in the series to 16-14. Colorado holds a 10-4 advantage in Boulder with three of those coming in the last four meetings at the CU Events Center.
Colorado used its ninth different starting lineup of the season featuring freshman forward Sebastian Rancik making his first collegiate start. (Hammond-Jakimovski-Rancik-Dak-Malone).
Colorado falls to 2-2 in games decided by one possession.
Arizona State had 17 turnovers in both meetings, the most by a CU opponent during the Big 12 schedule and tied for the second-most overall (18 vs. Bellarmine). Colorado had 12 turnovers, marking just the fourth time in 20 games the Buffaloes had fewer, dropping to 2-2 in those contests.
