2020-21 (Senior): The first graduate transfer in the Tad Boyle era, he led Colorado in rebounding at 5.8 per game while ranking second in scoring at 10.8 points per contest and third in steals (19). He led the team in 3-pointers with 52 and ranked second in 3-point percentage among those Buffs attempting at least two per game (.397). On the overall Pac-12 charts he was sixth in defensive rebounds (4.7 drpg), ninth in 3-point percentage, 12th in rebounding and 14th in 3-pointers made (1.6 3mpg). In conference only contests he was sixth in 3-point percentage (.427) and defensive rebounds (4.8 drpg), 10th in field goal shooting (.512), 12th in 3-pointers made (1.8 3mpg) and 13th in rebounding (6.0 rpg). He led the Buffaloes in rebounding 14 times and had four games of double-figure rebounds – both team season-highs. Made 48 of 53 from the line, contributing to Colorado's school and Pac-12 record for free throw percentage in a season at .819. He hit his first 22 free throw attempts, tying for team's season-best, and best overall run since Spencer Dinwiddie had 33 straight in Feb. 2013. Had three double-doubles, two of which came in the final eight games. Tied his personal CU-high 24 points while grabbing 11 rebounds in the home win over USC (2/25). Hit six 3-pointers in that USC game, the most by a Buff since Shane Gatling had seven at UCLA in Feb. 2019. Scored 12 points and grabbed 12 rebounds against Arizona State (3/4), the latter matching his collegiate high. Scored 10 points vs. Arizona (2/6) surpassing 1,000 points for his collegiate career. Scored in double-figures 19 times, the second-best mark on the team. He opted to return to Tulsa for an extra year of eligibility granted to all NCAA student-athletes in 2020-21 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
2018-20 (Jr./So., Tulsa): Averaged 10.6 points and 5.0 rebounds over two seasons at Tulsa, playing in 63 games while starting 23. Scored in double-figures 33 times and led the Golden Hurricane in 3-pointers both seasons; hitting 56 as a junior and 49 as a sophomore. Ranked third on the team in scoring as a junior at 11.3 points per game while ranking second in rebounding at 5.8 per contest. Scored a career-high 28 points on 10 of 16 shooting in a nonconference game against Colorado State (12/21/19). Averaged 10.1 points and 4.9 rebounds as a sophomore, ranking third on the team in both categories. Sat out the 2017-18 season as a transfer.
2016-17 (Freshman, Nebraska): Appeared in 29 games and averaged 4.3 points and 1.9 rebounds per game. Shot 40.5-percent from the floor and his 22 3-pointers ranked fourth on the team and tops among the squad’s freshmen. He upped his averages to 5.3 points and 2.2 rebounds per game during Big Ten play.
High School: A 2016 graduate of The Barstow School in Kansas City, Mo. He was a three-time first-team all-state selection in Missouri and All-Metro pick by the Kansas City Star. Led the Knights to three consecutive Class 3 title games and brought home the state championship in 2015. Scored more than 2,000 points during his prep career and helped the team to an 82-9 record over his final three seasons. A three-star prospect by Rivals.com, Scout.com and 247sports.com; Rivals ranked him the No. 122 player in the country. He shared the 2016 DiRenna Award, which is given to the top player in the Kansas City area, and was a finalist for Mr. Basketball in the state of Missouri. Starred on the AAU circuit with the Kansas City Run GMC program.
Academics: He received his bachelor’s degree in Organizational Studies with a minor in Sports Management from Tulsa in May 2020. Began working toward his master’s in Organizational Leadership at Colorado.
Personal: Born April 9, 1998, in Dayton, Ohio. He is the son of Tashannah and Jerrell Horne. Father Jerrell played collegiately at Memphis alongside former NBA great Penny Hardaway. Has three brothers, Jonah Horne, Jerrell Horne and Octavious Ellis. Started playing basketball at age three and lists LeBron James has his favorite NBA player. Enjoys rocks and music. Chose Colorado as a graduate transfer “to maximize my last year of eligibility.”
