CROSS COUNTRY: Friedland ran unattached at the Rocky Mountain Shootout and placed 36th overall.
HIGH SCHOOL: Friedland was a two-time track MVP at CVHS (sophomore and junior years). As a senior he was named the overall school MVP. Friedland was first team all-conference on the track that year. He was also a member of the cross country team and earned MVP honors his junior and senior year. He was second team all-state and first team all-conference.
IN THE CLASSROOM: Friedland intends to major in business management and is also interested in Spanish and environmental studies. He graduated in the top 10 percent of his graduating class and earned a GPA of 3.7 in his first semester at CU. Friedland is a member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
PERSONAL: Aaron Charles Friedland was born on November 23, 1990. He is the son of David and Denise Friedland of Denver, Colo., and has one younger sister, Emma. His uncle, David Cuadrado, qualified for the Olympic Trials in 1988 in the 10k. His aunt Denise Cuadrado, as well as his uncle David, ran track and cross country at Adams State. Friedland lists mountain biking, hiking, snowboarding, frisbee and soccer as his hobbies and is also an experienced juggler.
