2015: Indoor: Did not compete.
Outdoor: Levene again raced the longer distance events for the Buffs. She clocked a time of 15:59.55 in the 5k at Mt. SAC Relay (4/17) to finish 18th in the invitational ‘A’ section. She ran a 1,500 two weeks later at the Payton Jordan Invite (5/2), finishing with a PR of 4:27.34. At the Pac-12 Championships, Levene placed seventh for the Buffs in the 10,000, finishing in 34:15.20. Both her 5k and 10k times qualified for the NCAA West Prelims just two weeks later. She recorded a 22nd place finish in the 10k (35:34.39) and was 35th in the 5k (17:04.64).
2014: Indoor: Levene raced three times for CU during the indoor season. Her first race was the mile run at the Air Force Invite (1/25) where she placed sixth in 5:08.33. After that race, she moved up to the 5,000. Levene became the sixth fastest CU performer in the 5k after clocking in at 16:03.94 in the invitational section of the Husky Classic (2/14), which was fifth overall. Two weeks later at the MPSF Championships, she scored points for the Buffs in the 5k with a sixth-place finish (16:36.50).
Outdoor: Levene had a great outdoor season for the Buffs, moving into the top 10 on a pair of all-time performer’s lists. She started the season by racing in the 10k at the Stanford Invite (4/4) and placed 11th with a time of 33:17.58, which put her third on CU’s list. A month later at the Payton Jordan Invite (5/4), she became the sixth best CU performer in the 5k, clocking in at 15:53.84 (ninth overall). Levene raced the 10k at the Pac-12 Championships and was sixth in 35:02.20. She competed in both the 5k and 10k at the NCAA West Preliminary Championships. Levene was 27th in the 5k (16:46.98) and 32nd in the 10k (35:41.64).
CROSS COUNTRY: (2013) Levene ran in the last three varsity races of the season for the Buffs. She placed 41st at the Pac-12 Championships. At regionals, Levene scored for the Buffs as the No. 5 runner, placing 12th overall to earn all-region honors. She finished the season at NCAAs as CU’s No. 2 scorer, placing 59th overall to help the Buffs take seventh in the team race.
COLLEGE – PRINCETON (2009-13): Levene earned two letters in cross country and two in track and field while competing for the Tigers before graduating. She owns the school’s 10,000-meter run record (34:21), which she ran on April 5, 2013 at the Sam Howell Invitational. Levene ran a 5k personal best of 16:21 at Mt. SAC Relays on April 19, 2013.
HIGH SCHOOL: Levene ran cross country and track and field at Phillips Academy. As a senior, she was named the cross country team’s MVP. The Big Blue won the New England Prep School Track Association (NEPSTA) team cross country title from 2005-08 and Levene was the individual champion in 2007 and 2008. The track team won the team NEPSTA Championship in 2007 and she earned the individual league championship in the 3k that same season.
HIGH SCHOOL BESTS: 3,000-meters: 10:01.
IN THE CLASSROOM: Levene is pursuing her master’s in environmental journalism and has a GPA greater than 3.50. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Princeton in May of 2013. Levene was named to the Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention team in 2014.
PERSONAL: Abigail Peters Levene was born on February 2, 1991 in Erie, Pa. She is the daughter of Steven and Susan Peters of Dublin, N.H. and has one sister, Molly, who swims at Tufts. Levene enjoys cooking, baking, painting, hiking, swimming, biking and triathlons.
