2010: Indoor: Sawyer competed in one race during the indoor season. She clocked a time of 5:28.85 in the mile at the Air Force Invite (2/13), placing fifth overall.

Outdoor: Did not compete.

2009: Indoor: Sawyer competed in four races during the indoor campaign, two in the mile and two in the 3,000-meter run. She set a season-best in the mile at the Potts Indoor Invite with a time of 5:14.15. Sawyer broke the 10-minute mark in the 3k at the Husky Invite when she recorded an effort of 9:59.29. She also competed in the 3k at the conference championship and finished 34th.

Outdoor: Sawyer ran in one 1,500 during the outdoor season, but mainly focused on the steeplechase. She won the Front Range Classic with a time of 11:11.21 and was second at the CSU Ram Open. 

2008: Indoor: Sawyer ran a pair of 3k races during the indoor season. She placed first at the Don Barrett Open with a season-best of 10:47.28. Sawyer also took eighth at the Air Force Invite in a time of 11:06.35.

Outdoor: During the outdoor season, Sawyer mainly focused on the 3,000-meter steeplechase. She earned her PR and a regional qualifying mark of 10:45.80 at the Mt. Sac Relays where she finished first in her section. Sawyer also took first at the CU and Potts Invites. She finished just out of scoring position at Big 12, taking ninth. At the regional meet, she placed 22nd overall. 

CROSS COUNTRY: Sawyer was one of three true freshmen to earn a spot on the varsity roster in 2007. Her best finish of the season was her collegiate debut at the Rocky Mountain Shootout. Sawyer finished eighth overall and was CU’s No. 4 scorer. Sawyer was 119th at pre-nationals as CU’s No. 7. She competed in the conference and regional championships for the Buffs, but did not score. She was 55th at the conference and 75th at regionals. Sawyer started off the first three meets as CU’s No. 2 racer. She took 12th at the ISU Open, sixth at the Rocky Mountain Shootout and was 97th at pre-nationals. Sawyer was the fifth Buff across the finish at the Big 12 Championships (39th). She placed 74th overall at regionals. Sawyer started out her junior year (2009) by finishing seventh overall at the Rocky Mountain Shootout. She raced in the open section at pre-nats and took 18th overall. Sawyer’s final race of the season for CU was at the conference championship where she was 44th.

HIGH SCHOOL: Sawyer was the 2006 New York State Cross Country Champion. She also led her team in the 2006 Nike Team Nationals to a runner-up finish by taking third overall, despite losing a shoe early in the race. Sawyer’s 2005 high school team won the Nike Team Nationals and she took eighth overall. Sawyer was a finalist in the 2006 Foot Locker Nationals where she placed 32nd.

PERSONAL: Allison Sawyer was born on February 16, 1989 in Rochester, N.Y. Her parents are Vance and Carol Sawyer of Hilton, N.Y. Her brother, Brad, competes in cross country and track at Rochester Institute of Technology. Sawyer lists road biking, drawing and painting as her hobbies.
