2010: Indoor: Duffy ran in three meets, once running the 600-yard and twice the 800-meter run. He ran his first 600 at the Potts Invite (1:16.57) and took sixth overall. Duffy’s personal best in the 800 was at the Husky Classic (2/13) when he finished in 1:55.49.

Outdoor: Duffy concentrated on the 800 during the outdoor season. He recorded a PR of 1:53.85 at the Mt. SAC Relays and placed 31^st in the university/open division of the race.

2009: Indoor: Duffy raced twice in the 800 during the indoor campaign. He ran a season best time of 2:01.52 at the Potts Invite (1/24) for a second place finish.

Outdoor: During the outdoor season, he once again raced the 800 twice and ran the 1,500 once. His best mark in the 800 was 2:01.55 at the Potts Invite (3/21) for a fifth-place finish. His mark in the 1,500 was 4:21.40, which he ran at the Jack Christiansen Invite (4/25).

HIGH SCHOOL: Duffy earned seven letters at Lincoln East High School as a member of the cross country and track and field team. He was a state cross country medalist in 2005 and ran the third fastest time in state history. LEHS was the conference runner-up in 2005-07 and was the district runner-ups 2004, 05 and 07 on the cross country course. The team won the district championship in 2006. On the track Duffy set the Harold Scott Meet Record in the 800-meter run (1:56.30).

IN THE CLASSROOM: Duffy is majoring in integrative physiology and has been a member of the Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

PERSONAL: Grant Eugene Duffy was born on March 21, 1990. He is the son of Walter and Rosalie Duffy of Lincoln, Neb. He has two brothers, Matthew and William. Walter was a cross country All-American for the University of Nebraska. Duffy lists his hobbies as listening to music and hanging out with friends. He is a certified scuba instructor.
