2008: West ran in three meets for the Buffs during the indoor season. She ran a time of 5:48.77 at the Air Force Invite and took third overall. West competed in the 3k twice and earned a season pr of 11:04.78 at the Potts Invite for a second place finish. During the outdoor season she ran the 1,500-meters and steeplechase. Her pr in the 1500 came at the Tom Benich Invite (4:59.75). West also earned a season best in the steeplechase clocking a mark of 11:53.38 at the CU Invite.

AT PARADISE VALLEY CC: West was 14th at the NJCAA Championship in 2005 and earned All-American honors in 05 and 06. On the track, she was fifth in the steeplechase and eighth in the 5k (both marks in 2007).

HIGH SCHOOL: West lettered in cross country and track at Mountain Ridge High School all four years. She was 18th overall at state as a freshman in the 2-mile and as a sophomore she was the regional champion. West was named the Mountain Lions' most valuable player as a senior and earned all-state recognition. Her cross country team won the regional championship in 2004.

ACADEMICS: West is majoring in international affairs at Colorado and has a cumulative GPA of 3.402. She was a member of the Honors Program at PVCC.

PERSONAL: Heather West was born on July 21, 1987 in Phoenix, Ariz. to Jim and Sarah West. She enjoys reading and rock climbing.
