2008 OUTLOOK: After scoring for the CU women at the 2007 NCAA Cross Country Championships (fifth runner), Jenn will be a factor in the Big 12 in both the mile and 1,500-meters. 

2007: Redshirt. Did not compete.

2006: Hooper ran in one race during the outdoor season. She took 13th in the 1,500-m at the Colorado Invitational.

CROSS COUNTRY: Hooper participated in a pair of meets during the 2006 season. She placed 45th overall for the Buffs at the Rocky Mountain Shootout and was the 10th Buff across the line. Hooper placed 12th at the Fort Hays Invite and was CU’s No. 2 racer. Hooper earned a spot on the varsity roster in 2007 and competed in all three postseason races, scoring in two. She was 39th at the Big 12 meet and scored for CU at the regional (48th/CU’s No. 5) and at the NCAA meet (222nd/CU’s No. 5). Hooper also took 17th overall at the Rocky Mountain Shootout to start the season.

HIGH SCHOOL: Hooper earned four-letters as a member of the SSHS cross country and track & field teams. She competed in the 1,600 and 3,200-meter runs. Her best mark of 5:28 in the 1,600 came at regionals, where she took first-place. Hooper also placed first at regionals in the 3,200 with a time of 12:00.01. Hooper was a member of the Colorado All-State Team B. Hooper also earned two letters as a member of the Nordic skiing team. She placed 14th at state in 2004.

ACADEMICS: Hooper is majoring in integrated physiology at Colorado and is also interested in English. She is interested in physical therapy upon graduation. Hooper was a member of the honor roll in high school. She owns a greater than 3.0 GPA and is a member of the Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

PERSONAL: Jennifer Hooper was born on Dec. 4, 1986 in Grand Junction, Colo. Her parents are Vince Hooper and Sandra Fiebing. Her father ran track at Colorado State. Hooper lists cycling, hiking and ultimate Frisbee as her hobbies. Italian is her favorite food and she lists Mia Hamm as her favorite athlete.
