  • Had 96 points on the season.
  • Mata was named the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week after his performance on the road against Arizona in week seven. He was 6-6 on all of his kicks including 2-2 on field goals.

  • Hit 10 of his 12 Field Goal attempts on the year (83.33%).
  • Season-long 47-yard field goal against Utah in the last game of the season.
  • Kicked a game-winning field goal in Tempe against Arizona State as time expired.
AT JACKSON STATE 
  • Played all 13 games as a true freshman at Jackson State in 2022. 
  • He hit 12-of-13 field goals and 50-of-51 extra points for 86 points.  
  • Earned third-team FCS Freshman All-America honors. 
  • Named second-team All-SWAC. 
  • Both of his missed kicks were blocked.  
AT BUFORD HIGH SCHOOL
  • Played four seasons at Buford High School for coach Bryant Appling. 
  • Won the kicking job as a junior and handling all kicking duties his final two seasons on varsity. 
  • Buford won two state championships his final two years. 
  • Had the game-winning kick in both state championship games, hitting a field goal in OT his junior season to help Buford beat Lee County 34-31 and his PAT in 2021 gave Buford a 21-20 win over Langston Hughes. 
  • He hit on 16-of-23 field goals and 116-of-121 PATs combined as a junior and senior. 
  • As a senior, he hit on 60-of-63 PAT and 9-of-13 field goals. 
  • Named second-team all-state, first-team all-region and first-team all-conference as a senior. 
  • Named the Touchdown Club of Gwinnett Kicker of the Year as a senior. 
  • Junior season he hit on 7-of-10 field goals and 56-of-58 PATs. 
  • Earned first-team all-state by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
  • Also named the Specialist of the Year, first-team all-region and first-team all-finals and first-team all-conference. 
  • At the Chris Sailer Kicking Camp, was named the FG Champion at the 2021 GA Spring Camp competition. 
  • Took second place in the Last Man Standing contest at camp in Las Vegas
