HIGH SCHOOL—A three-star recruit by 247Sports and ESPN, which ranks him as the No. 146 player in the state of Florida and No. 63 defensive tackle in the class … 247Sports gives him a grade of 83 and has him as the No. 225 player from Florida and No. 101 strongside defensive end while the 247 composite has him as the No. 206 player in the state and 92 strong-side defensive end ...  A defensive lineman early in his career, he moved to the offensive line as a senior to help out the team … St. Thomas Aquinas was 22-1 over the past two seasons, including a 7-1 record in a shortened senior season and perfect 15-0 mark his junior season, winning the Florida 7A State Championships and Geico National Championship for coach Roger Harriott … A pre-season Sports Illustrated All-American as a senior when St. Thomas was ranked as a top 20 team nationally and the No. 2 team in Florida, he helped anchor an offensive line that produced a balanced attack, averaging 115.3 yards passing and 171.6 yards rushing per game … His junior season on the defensive line, he was in on 12 tackles for loss and five sacks as a rotational player … The STAHS defense surrendered just 10.0 points per game his senior season and pitched six shutout wins in 15 games  … He also wrestled at St. Thomas Aquinas, compiling a 17-8 record on the mat.
