AT COLORADO: 2021 (Fr.)—Saw action in two games, both on special teams … Had one special teams point with a knockdown or springing block on the kickoff return unit against Utah … Named the Special Teams Scout Player of the Week leading up to the Washington game.
HIGH SCHOOL—A three-star prospect by the recruiting services … The 247Sports Composite listed him as the No. 109 tight end nationally and No. 312 player out of Texas … Played on varsity for Tidehaven for three years, all on offense and played on defense as a senior … Amassed over 1,000 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns in his career with two 100-yard receiving games … Played mostly wide receiver due to offensive formations, as a senior he was a unanimous first-team All-District 3A-2 Region IV 14 selection and honorable mention all-area when he caught 29 passes for 631 yards and 10 touchdowns … As a cornerback on defense he had 15 tackles with one interception and two pass breakups while not allowing a touchdown and only a handful of completions … In the second game of his senior season against Ganado, he had five receptions for 132 yards and a touchdown and also had an interception on defense helping the team to a hard-fought victory … Named second-team All-District 3A-2 Region IV 14 as a junior when he had 12 receptions for 272 yards and six touchdowns in six games … One of his top plays includes scoring on a 64-yard screen pass in a 42-6 win over Brazos … He had four receptions for 138 yards and two touchdowns against Johnson City as a junior … Played on most special teams units throughout high school … Also played basketball and ran track & field at Tidehaven … Averaged 16.3 points per game on the hardwood his junior season … Senior season in basketball was cut short to prepare for collegiate football, but he opened the season scoring 40 points in a 72-66 win over Boling … In track, participated in the 100-meter dash, 4x100-meter relay, 200-meter dash and high jump … Had a personal best of 11.01 in the 100-meter dash.

PERSONAL—He was born October 9, 2002 in Angleton, Texas … Parents are Anthony and Sandy Smith … Has one older brother, Anthony Smith Jr. … Hobbies include lifting weights and watching Netflix … He became 6-5 his junior year of high school and initially weighed 175 pounds, and when the COVID-19 pandemic happened, he hit the weight room and added 50 pounds of muscle prior to his delayed senior season … He visited Colorado as a child and would dream about moving to Colorado after his NFL or NBA career was over.
