AT COLORADO: 2003 (Sr.)?He played in all 12 games on special teams, tying for sixth on the team in special team points with six.  He had three solo tackles, including one inside-the-20, and two knockdown blocks.  He was placed on scholarship during the second week of August camp, as the coaches rewarded him particularly for his dedication on special teams. 

 

2002 (Jr.)?He played in all 14 games, including the Alamo Bowl, on special teams, and a few on offense at receiver.  He completed a 29-yard pass on the old throwback play to quarterback Robert Hodge at UCLA, leading to a key CU touchdown two plays later.  He had one knockdown block on special teams duty, as he performed on several units.  He started spring at receiver, but was switched over to defense as the secondary really needed some bodies.  He had two tackles in the spring game playing free safety, but returned to offense for fall camp.

 

2001 (Soph.)?He saw action in 12 games, including the Fiesta Bowl, with all of his action coming on special teams (he had one knockdown block on return duty).

 

2000 (Fr.-RS)?He played in the final five games of the year on the punt team, seeing enough action to earn his first letter. 

 

1999 (Fr.)?Redshirted; he did not see any action.  He practiced the entire season at wide receiver after joining the team as a walk-on prior to the start of August drills.

 

HIGH SCHOOL?He lettered three times as a quarterback at Horizon, setting school records for the most rushing yards and touchdowns by a quarterback as a senior, when he earned first-team all-conference honors.  He was a second-team all-metro performer as well, earning offensive player-of-the-year honors.  As a senior, he rushed 160 times for 1,204 yards and 16 touchdowns, while completing 74-of-112 passes for 800 yards, with 10 touchdowns and four interceptions.  As a junior, he completed 50-of-85 passes for 700 yards (two touchdowns, seven interceptions), and rushed 75 times for 555 yards and eight touchdowns.  He returned punts and kickoffs as a freshman and sophomore, returning three kicks for scores.  Horizon was 5-5 his senior year, 1-9 his junior season and 3-7 his sophomore year under coach Glenn Gielas.  He also lettered three times in baseball (pitcher) and twice in basketball (guard/forward). 

 

ACADEMICS?He is majoring in design studies at Colorado.  He was a three-time academic all-conference selection in high school, earning his way on the academic all-state team as a senior.

 

PERSONAL?Born Nov. 20, 1980 in Delta, Colo.  His hobbies include playing the guitar.
