AT COLORADO: This Season (Fr.)Projected as a wide receiver his true freshman year in college.

 

HIGH SCHOOL: He earned All-Midlands Region honors from PrepStar and All-Southwest Region honors from SuperPrep as a senior, when he was also named first-team All-State and first-team All-District.  SuperPrep ranked him as the No. 106 overall in the state of Texas (the 14th ranked receiver); Scout.com ranked him as the No. 76 receiver in the nation, while Rivals.com pegged him in the No. 79 slot.  As a junior, he was also named first-team All-State and was a first-team All-District selection both as a sophomore and junior.  A three-year letterman in football, he caught 32 passes for 830 yards and 12 touchdowns as a senior; he missed four games due to injury otherwise he would have likely had a 1,000-yard season.  He also helped out on defense, playing cornerback at times, making three interceptions.  He had 27 receptions for 785 yards and nine touchdowns as a junior, which followed up a sophomore season in which he tallied 22 catches for 450 yards and four TD’s.  His top game as a senior came in a 49-8 win over Elysian Fields, as he had five receptions for 186 yards and three touchdowns; another top game was during his junior year in a 55-2 win over Central, when he had six receptions for 150 yards and three scores. Under head coach Andy Evans, Tatum went 42-4 during Blackmon’s three year tenure: his senior team went 13-2, losing to Farmersville 27-24 in the 2A Division I state championship game; his junior team also went 13-2, capturing the state title by beating Littlefield 32-14; his sophomore team was undefeated (16-0), winning the state championship by beating Hutto 38-34.  He also lettered in track (relays).   

 

ACADEMICS:He is interested in dentistry or business as possible majors at Colorado.

 

PERSONAL:Born September 9, 1989 in Longview, Texas.  He enjoys playing video games and pick-up basketball; he owns a 38-inch vertical jump that’s beneficial in both football and hoops.  He has aspirations of becoming a high school football coach.   Full first name is Chancellor.
