Andy Wang is in his fourth year on the University of Colorado football staff, his second as the assistant director of player personnel as he was promoted to the position on July 1, 2021.  In his current role, he oversees scouting, on-campus visits and recruiting while coordinating overall recruiting strategies as well as roster management.

Wang, 27, joined the staff as a recruiting assistant full-time on July 1, 2020, where his primary duties were assisting the defensive coaches in recruiting, as well as assisting in managing graphics and social media. He was an intern in the football office for the 2019 season.

He came to Colorado from Miami (Ohio) University, where he was an intern with the RedHawks’ football program through May 2019, simultaneous when he was in graduate school at nearby Xavier University.  He also spent a year as a financial advisor.

Wang graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2017 with bachelor degrees in Business Administration and Business & Economics, as his fields of study included Economics, Business Management, Marketing and International Business.  He earned his Master’s of Education in Sports Administration from Xavier University in 2019.

He was born August 29, 1994 in Dalian, China, and graduated from duPont Manual High School in Louisville, Ky.  His hobbies include spending time with his dogs, Kilo (an American Bulldog) and Clementine (a Doberman) and loves all animals.  He has lived on three different continents (Asia, Europe and North America) and speaks three languages (English, Mandarin and Portuguese).
