Carla Morrow is in her second year as Director of Basketball Operations at the University of Colorado and only the second person to hold the position. Her duties include film exchange, team travel, monitoring the budget, community service and facility coordination.
Morrow, 26, joined the Buffaloes in the summer of 2005 after a two-year stint as the director of operations for women’s basketball at Missouri State University, formerly known as Southwest Missouri State. While with the Bears, Morrow’s duties included film exchange and handling day-to-day operations within the program. During her time at SMS, the Bears won the 2005 WNIT and made an appearance in the 2004 NCAA Tournament.
As a player, Morrow was a four-year standout guard for McConnell-Miller at the University of Tulsa from 1998-2002. Morrow is the only player in Tulsa history with 1,000 points and 600 rebounds in a career. She ranks second in 3-point field goals (122), total field goals (427), rebounds (642), steals (201) and games played on the Golden Hurricane career charts and is third in scoring with 1,115 points.
Morrow was named to the All-Western Athletic Conference second team as a senior in 2002, averaging 12.2 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. She signed a free agent contract with the WNBA’s Seattle Storm in 2002 to become the first Golden Hurricane to sign a professional contract.
Morrow graduated from Tulsa in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in sport management. She spent the 2002-03 season as the freshman and varsity basketball coach at Tulsa Central High School. Morrow earned her master’s degree in physical education from Southwest Missouri State in 2004.
A native of Houston, Morrow graduated from Elkins High School in Missouri City, Texas, in 1998 where she lettered in basketball, volleyball and soccer.
