Connor Gorny
Connor Gorny is in his first year as an assistant sports performance coach and the sport science coordinator for CU’s football program, as he joined the department on February 14, 2022.
 
Gorny, 28, came to Colorado from Major League Soccer’s (MLS) Real Salt Lake Claret and Cobalt, where he worked in the development academy and first team as a performance coach and sport scientist.
 
Prior to RSL, Gorny was the assistant director of strength and conditioning for the football team at Utah State University, a position he held from January 2019 through December 2020.  One of the positions he worked closely with was quarterback, which included Jordan Love, a first round pick (26th overall) by the Green Bay Packers in the 2020 NFL Draft.  He had previously been a sport science/strength and conditioning intern at the University of Utah in the summer of 2018.
 
Gorny graduated in 2016 from Ball State University with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science; he was an undergraduate exercise science lab technician the final semester of his senior year.  He earned his Master’s degree in Applied Exercise Physiology from Columbia University in 2019.  While earning his advanced degree, he was a graduate assistant in applied physiology, a strength and conditioning intern at the University, and a strength and conditioning volunteer at St. Francis College (Brooklyn, N.Y.)
 
He was born January 26, 1994 in Schererville, Ind., and graduated from Andrean High School (Merrillville, Ind.) where he lettered in football and soccer.  His hobbies include playing golf and spending time in the mountains.  After graduating from Ball State in May 2016, he was a sports performance intern at the Parisi Speed School in Schererville, Ind.
