Jacob Ricketts
        Jacob Ricketts is in his first year as an assistant sports performance coach for football at Colorado, as he joined the program on February 14, 2022.  He is certified through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA) and is a member of the organization.
 
        Ricketts, 28, came to CU from Temple University, where he served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for three years (2019-21) and was promoted by the Owls as the associate director of football sports performance and applied science his last year there.
 
        He had joined the Temple staff after spending three years at Northern Illinois University. At NIU Ricketts began as an intern and progressed into an assistant director of sports performance.  He spent two years in that position working directly with the NIU student-athletes, and while at NIU, he earned his master’s degree in Sports Management in 2017.
 
        Before NIU, Ricketts spent the summer 2015 working at Stanford as a sports performance intern, where he worked under Shannon Turley, CU’s current director of strength and conditioning and football performance.  He also interned on the strength and conditioning staff at Montana State University in 2014.
 
        He graduated from University of Dubuque in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in Health, Wellness and Exercise Science.  He lettered playing linebacker on the Spartans’ football team and was an active member in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  An Academic All-Conference team member as a sophomore, he was also active in several programs in the community.
 
        A native of Rochelle, Ill., he graduated from Rochelle Township High School, where he lettered in football, basketball and track.  He is married to the former Mackenzie Vivian, and they have a son, Cullen (2).
