Sam Beckenstein is in his first year as a member of the University of Colorado football staff as a recruiting assistant, joining the program on August 1, 2019.
Beckenstein, 23, joined CU from the University of Alabama, where he worked as a recruiting assistant for the national runner-ups while he was finishing his Master’s degree in Sports Business Management. He had previously graduated from Alabama with a double major in Business Management and Marketing in 2018. He worked in the football office as an undergraduate (junior and senior years), and was a member on the staff of the Crimson Tide’s 2017 national championship team.
Beckenstein was born May 6, 1996 in Fairfax, Va., and graduated from Spain Park High School in Birmingham. Hobbies include playing golf.
