Tanner Norton

              Tanner Norton is in his first year on the University of Colorado staff as a football recruiting assistant (scouting), as he joined the staff in May 2022.Â

              Norton, 27, came to from the Coors Brewing Co., where he was in merchandising for about six months; but he has returned to the profession of his first love, as previously he was with the NFL’s Denver Broncos as a scouting assistant for two years (June 2019 through May 2021). With the Broncos, he was involved in the evaluation and grading of professional teams, attending local pro days, coordinating free agent information including hosting them, and assisting in filming practice periods.

              He was an offensive assistant for Oklahoma State University for the 2018 season, working for a year in assisting the quarterback, receivers and running back coaches in various daily tasks. The Cowboy offense finished 10th in the nation in total offense (500.2 yards per game) and 13th in scoring (38.4 points per game).  He also helped run the scout special teams unit for the regular season. OSU was 7-6 that season, but 4-1 against ranked teams and were the Liberty Bowl champions with a 38-33 win over Missouri.

              Norton graduated from Oklahoma State with a bachelor’s degree in University Studies in 2018, also earning a minor in Coaching Science; he was a member of the Dean’s Honor Roll with a 3.5 grade point average. As a student, he was an assistant with OSU’s summer football camps and was a recruiting assistant for four years (2014-17).Â

              He was born December 11, 1994 in Durango, Colo., and graduated from Duncan (Okla.) High School, where he lettered in football, basketball and baseball. His hobbies include golf, snowboarding and working out.  He married to the former Tianna McDonald.
