Played in all 12 games, starting in two.
Gibson started the season opener against Georgia Tech. He was the only true freshman to start the season opener.
He was just the fourth true freshman to start a season opener in Colorado history.
For the third straight season, a true freshman had the first touch of the season. In 2023, Dylan Edwards caught a pass from Shedeur Sanders on the Buffs’ first offensive snap. In 2024, Dre’lon Miller did so and this year it was Gibson’s turn.
Finished the season with 15 receptions for 71 yards on offense. On special teams he had 25 kickoff returns for 597 yards an average of 23.9 yards per return. He was second in the Big 12 in both kick return yards and average yards per return.
Added four punt returns for 29 yards.

AT NORTH CROWLEY

Gibson played high school football at North Crowley under head coach Ray Gates.
He was named the 2024 MaxPreps National Player of the Year. He is only the second wide receiver to win the award.
Named one of 10 finalists for 2024 Mr. Texas Football.
During his senior season, he became a large part of the offense and led the Panthers to a 16-0 record and the Texas 6A State Champions.
In the Texas 6A State CHampionship game, Gibson took home the Offensive MVP after hauling in seven catches for 181 yards and three touchdowns. Including a 75-yard touchdwons on the first play of the game.
Gibson finished with 2,009 receiving yards (ninth in Texas High School Football history) and 36 receiving touchdowns (fourth in Texas High School Football history). Also threw a 74-yard touchdown pass to help advance to the quarterfinals, ran for two touchdowns, and scored one punt return touchdown accounting for 40 total touchdowns.
He was a focal point on offense for the seventh-highest scoring team in the country. The Panthers averaged 54 points per game and broke the Dallas-area record with 864 points.
Gibson broke onto the scene with 17 total touchdowns in his first five games against the best Texas high school football had to offer. He put up four touchdowns each against state-ranked powers Lancaster, DeSoto, and Rockwall.
In his junior campaign, he helped North Crowley to an undefeated record. He caught 12 passes in 10 games totaling 217 yards and two touchdowns. Gibson added 36 carries for 325 yards and five touchdowns in the rushing attack.

PERSONAL

He was the fifth player to commit on a nationally recognized show. He announced on Thanksgiving on Nightcap hosted by Shannon Sharpe and Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson along with three other teammates London Merritt, Alex McPherson, and Carde Smith.
