HIGH SCHOOL—A three-star prospect by the recruiting services … 247 Sports listed him as the No. 85 cornerback in the class and No. 94 player out of California … 247 Composite listed him as the No. 1,048 player nationally, the No. 100 cornerback and No. 81 player from California … On3 Sports listed him as the No. 974 prospect nationally, No. 80 athlete, and No. 68 player from California … ESPN listed him as the No. 36 athlete nationally, No. 74 player in the west region, and No. 39 player out of California … Played three years of varsity football, two at Benecia under coach Craig Holden, and one season at Jesse Bethel under coach Jeff Turner … Helped Benecia and Jesse Bethel compile a combined 20-8 record in three seasons as both a cornerback and wide receiver … Senior season he had 39 receptions for 602 yards and nine touchdowns, and added seven rushes for 46 yards and another score … Defensively, he had 40 tackles including three for a loss with two interceptions for 25 yards and four pass breakups … Had four kick returns for 130 yards and a touchdown and seven punt returns for 135 yards and a touchdown … Had 12 total touchdown scoring receiving and rushing on offense and on punt and kick returns on special teams … His top game as a senior was in a 45-33 win over Acalanes when he had 12 receptions for 139 yards and two touchdowns and added five carries for 41 yards and another score … As a junior in his first season at Benecia, he had four receptions for 18 yards and five carries for 14 yards on offense and added 10 tackles and three pass breakups on defense in the 3-2 COVID-shortened season … As a sophomore at Jesse Bethel, he had eight interceptions in the team’s 8-2 season … Also played basketball and participated in track & field in high school … He was the league champion in the 400-meter race.
