AT COLORADO: 2008 (Sr.)?He took over the punting chores the second half of the season, averaging 39.8 yards on 22 kicks with a long of 59. He played five inside-the-20 (two inside-the-10) with three of 50 yards or longer, which helped him to a 35.6 net average. The longest return of any of his punts was 15 yards, as just seven were returned (for an average of 7.3). His top game was against Iowa State, when he averaged 49.7 yards for three punts. He really made some strides during the spring, especially with his consistency. He averaged 37.4 yards on five punts in the main scrimmages (long of 54), but had solid daily numbers.

2007 (Jr.)?He saw action in one game, punting once at Arizona State where he began his college career; he got off a 48-yard kick that was not returned. In the spring, he had nine punts in the four main scrimmages, averaging 41.1 per with a long of 49.

2006 (Soph.)?He participated in spring drills, averaging 42.8 yards for four punts in main scrimmage action, with a long of 52 (he had dozens of other punts in normal practices). He was invited back to the team after the start of the fall semester, but did not compete.

2005 (Fr.-RS)?He joined the team as a walk-on transfer during the spring. He transferred to CU prior to the start of the 2005-06 academic year, and by NCAA rule was ineligible to compete.

AT ARIZONA STATE (2004; Fr.)?He was a member of the Sun Devil’s Sun Bowl champion team, but did not see any action as he redshirted. He practiced at punter in the fall and spring for head coach Dirk Koetter and special teams coach Tom Osborne.

HIGH SCHOOL?A three-year letterman in football, he was third in the state in punting his senior year, as he was named a Regional All-American and one of Ray Guy’s Top 50 Punters in the Nation. He played cornerback and punter averaging 43 yards and 4.5 seconds of hang time for his prep career. His best game came against Cortez in his senior year when he scored three touchdowns and had two 60-yard punts. GSHS was 4-6 his senior year, 5-5 junior season and 3-7 when he was a sophomore under coach Craig Denney. He also lettered once in baseball (shortstop).

ACADEMICS?He graduated in December 2008 with a degree in Sociology. He was a member of the Honor Roll throughout high school.

PERSONAL?He was born December 13, 1985 in Glenwood Springs, Colo. His hobbies include playing the guitar and drums, and he was named the outstanding drummer for his high school’s jazz band. He also collects coins and guitar picks. (Last name is pronounced swoz-oh in Oz-oh.)
