HIGH SCHOOL—A three-star prospect by the recruiting services … 247 Composite listed him as the No. 102 safety in the class, No. 124 player from Georgia and No. 1,364 player nationally … 247 Sports ranked him the No. 62 safety in the class and No. 78 player from Georgia … Played four years of varsity football, the final three at Langston Hughes under coach Boone Williams after one season at Holy Innocent … Langston Hughes was 2-8 his sophomore season before combining for a 24-4 (13-2 senior, 11-2 junior) record his last two years there with deep playoff runs both seasons … Played quarterback, safety, nickel and running back while returning kicks throughout his career … In his career, at Langston Hughes, he completed 126-of-272 passes for 1,789 yards and 20 touchdowns with six interceptions while rushing 170 times for 1,274 yards and 18 touchdowns and catching one pass for 57 yards … He finished his career with 1,331 yards from scrimmage, 1,525 all-purpose yards and 3,120 yards of total offense … Defensively, he had 40 tackles, three interceptions, two pass breakups, a kick return for 69 yards… Finished with 110 points including 18 touchdowns and one two-point conversion … Senior season he helped Langston Hughes to a 13-2 record and appearance in the 6A state championship game appearance while being named the region’s Player of the Year … He was 7-1 in games he played, being hurt after eight games … He finished the season 7-of-14 passing for 87 yards and one touchdown, ran 24 times for 239 yards and six touchdowns finishing with 433 all-purpose yards and 326 yards of total offense … Defensively, he had three interceptions with 125 yards in returns and a touchdown, 39 tackles and two pass breakups and on special teams he had one kick return for 69 yards … Top game came against North Atlanta in a 69-7 win, he had a rushing touchdown, passing touchdown and a pick-six along with five tackles on defense … His three interceptions came in the first two games of the season … Junior season he was named all-Region 4-6A at quarterback, completing 76-of-155 passes for 1,232 yards with 14 touchdowns and one interception, and added 96 rushes for 794 yards and eight touchdowns and a reception for 57 yards … He had 2,083 total yards and 851 yards from scrimmage … He completed 6-of-11 passes for 166 yards and a touchdown in a 27-0 shutout over Northside … He was named first-team All-Region 4-6A at quarterback … Added five interceptions on defense … Sophomore season he was 43-of-103 passing for 470 yards with five touchdowns and five interceptions while rushing 50 times for 241 yards and four touchdowns, racking up 711 yards of total offense … Also ran track & field at Langston Hughes and was the state runner-up in the 400-meter, 4x100-meter, 4x400-meter and was sixth in the 200-meter, earning all-state in all four events … Best times were 47.50 in the 400-meter and 21.8 in the 200-meter dashes.
