Career at Colorado— In his four seasons with the Buffs he appeared in 40 races, finishing 38 of them with eight top 20 finishes … After graduation he was selected as one of two CU student-athletes to receive a Pac-12 Postgraduate Scholarship worth $9,000.

2018 (Senior)—He appeared in 10 races on the season and posted three top 20 finishes … His best freestyle finish was a 16th place showing in the sprint races at the U.S. Cross Country Championships to open the season … Top classical finish was a 20th place showing in the 5K race at the UNM Invite.

2017 (Junior)—He finished 8 of 9 races on the season in addition to competing in the mixed gender relay that was a part of the Seawolf Invitational. His top finish came in the first meet of the season in Utah, as he placed 14th in the classical sprint race at Soldier Hollow Resort. That was his only top 20 finish of the season and his best finish in any classic race in his career. At the 2017 RMISA Championships in Minturn, Colo., he placed 24th in the 10K classical and 26th in the 20K freestyle skate.

2016 (Sophomore)—Competed in and finished nine races including the RMISA Championships in both disciplines, with his top finish in classical. Part of the 2016 RMISA Championship Nordic team. His highest finish of the season was a 14^th-place showing at the New Mexico Invitational, helping CU to a first-place Nordic finish. His top classical finish was 17^th at the Montana State Individual, helping the men’s team to a first-place finish.

2015 (Freshman)—Competed in the first 10 races of the year all the way up through the RMISA Championships hosted by Alaska. Part of the 2015 RMISA Championship Nordic team. His top finish came in his first ever meet at the Utah Invitational, placing 18^th in classical.

Prior to CU—He skied for Ski and Snowboard Club Vail from 2012-14, the Rocky Mountain Junior National Team from 2009-14 and the Crested Butte Winter Sports Club from 2005-11. He participated in Super Tour races at West Yellowstone and had nine wins. He placed 13th in the freestyle race in a Super Tour race in 2013 and he was the top Rocky Mountain Junior Division Qualifier four out of five years from 2010-14.

High School—He graduated from Vail Ski and Snowboard Academy in May 2014 and also attended the Crested Butte Community School. He participated on the varsity Nordic skiing, track & field and Mountain Biking teams throughout high school. He was part of the Mountain Biking Colorado State Championship team in 2012. He was on the All-State team and placed second at the Colorado State Championships in 2012. He placed 13th in the freestyle race at the State Championships. In 2012 at Crested Butte Community School, his cross country running team earned the State Championship and in 2013 at Ski and Snowboard Club Vail was named the USSA Team of the Year. He was a member of the All-State Cross Country team in 2010-11 as a freshman and sophomore and his freshman year he was an All-American in the 5K freestyle. In 2012, he set the Crested Butte Community School record for the 5K in a time of 16:03.

In the Classroom—He is majoring in finance at Colorado and is also interested in international relations. Serving as a co-president of CU’s student-athlete advisory committee his senior year, he was selected to attend the Pac-12’s SALT (student-athlete leadership team) meetings in San Francisco in late October 2017, meeting with 11 other athletes from the conference (one from every other school) and league/university administrators to discuss legislative details student-athletes would like to see changed in the conference.

Personal—Ian Jerome Boucher was born December 23, 1995, in Placerville, Calif., to Channing and Rose Boucher. He enjoys being outdoors, biking, hiking and playing volleyball and soccer. His goal after college is to travel the world. He is related to John Boucher, who is a member of the National Lacrosse Hall of Fame. John Boucher attended St. John’s college having never played football or lacrosse and ended up lettering three times in football and played every minute of every game of his lacrosse career and was a first-team All-American in 1929 when the school won its first National Championship. He chose Colorado because it has “great skiing, is a great place and has great people.”
