Won the ISST’s Final Tournament in Cobham (England) in his senior year in March 2015, earning MVP and All-Tournament Team honors as the tournament's leding scorer, including a 35 point outing against the International School of Brussels. Played for Canarias Basketball Academy (CBA) in Spain in his post-graduate year and played with a CBA team in the National Prep Showcase Albertus Magnus in New Haven, Conn. in November 2015. Personal: Born Dec. 24, 1996 in Quito, Ecuador. Son of Eric and Henriette Strating. Has a younger sister, Caroline. Father is a Dutch diplomat and mother a German lawyer. Lived in Ecuador, China, Australia, Spain and the Netherlands. Has an International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma from the American School of the Hague in the Netherlands. Is fluent in three languages. Selected CU because “the location, campus and academic reputation of the school, together with the possibility to play basketball in a strong conference like the Pac-12 under a top coach like Tad Boyle, formed a combination that no other interested school could match." Says biggest moment in prep career was playing well as a European player at the Prep Showcase in New Haven, Conn. in front of so many college coaches. Will try to combine business and engineering in school and a future career.
