2020-21 (Senior): Averaged 5.3 points and 2.4 rebounds, playing in all 32 games with three starts. Ranked third on the team in 3-pointers made (38) and attempted (103). His 36.9 percent accuracy from downtown ranked 22nd overall in the Pac-12 Conference. Scored in double figures five times, scoring his personal-best of 12, three times in a seven-game span. Originally set his CU-high at Arizona (12/28), connecting on a personal-best four 3-point field goals (4-6). He matched that scoring effort with 12 at UCLA (1/2), co-leading the Buffaloes in scoring for the first time. Led the Buffaloes in rebounding against Washington in Las Vegas (1/20) with a career-best seven. Scored five points and tied career-highs with four assists and two steals in the NCAA Tournament Second Round game against Florida State (3/22). Made 13 of 15 from the free throw line (.867), contributing to Colorado's school and Pac-12 record for free throw percentage in a season at .819.
2019-20 (Junior): Averaged 3.2 points in 31 games as a first-year Buffalo. Ranked fifth on the team with 26 3-point field goals. All but eight of his field goals came from 3-point range. Shot 38.2 percent overall from long distance, but improved that mark to 44.1 percent in during Pac-12 play (15 of 34). Scored a career-high 10 points against Iona (12/29). Had nine points against Washington State (1/23) his best outing in Pac-12 play. Made one start, at UCLA (1/30). Had eight points, on 3 of 4 from the field, in his Colorado debut against Arizona State (11/8) in Shanghai, China. Had 39 rebounds on the season, but 13 - or one-third - came in the final four constests, including a career-best six at Utah (3/7).
2017-19 (Florida SouthWestern State): Played two seasons at Florida SouthWestern State College, helping the Buccaneers to a 60-6 overall record and two NJCAA Division I National Tournament quarterfinal appearances. Averaged 11.2 points and 2.8 rebounds in 61 career games, shooting 42.9 percent from the field and 85.1 percent from the foul line. He is a career 42-percent shooter from beyond the 3-point arc, making 140 of 335 attempts. As a sophomore in 2018-19, earned All-Suncoast Conference First Team Honors averaging 13.9 points per game while shooting 43.1 percent from 3-point range. Topped the Buccaneers in minutes played (26.3 mpg) and free throw shooting at 83.3 percent (75-90). Started all 33 games in 2018-19 as the Buccaneers finished 30-3, which included an undefeated season in Suncoast Conference play. Florida SouthWestern was ranked No. 1 in the final 2018-19 NJCAA Division I national rankings before ending its season in the national quarterfinals. Earned second team all-conference honors as a freshman, averaging 7.9 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.
High School: A 2016 graduate of Beverly Hills (Calif.) High School, helping the Normans to a 21-9 record as a senior. Attended Montverde Academy in Florida as a junior, where his team won a national championship in 2015.
Academics: Gradauted from Colorado in May 2021 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing. He earned his associate degree in Business Management at Florida SouthWestern State. A two-time Suncoast All-Academic selection and named to the NJCAA All-Academic Third Team as a freshman.
Personal: Born on Oct. 12, 1997, in Atlanta and the son of Kelly Daniels. Has a twin brother, Mason, and a sister, Logan. Mason played basketball with Maddox at Florida SouthWestern. His grandfather, Jim Britton, played four seasons of Major League Baseball for the Atlanta Braves and Montreal Expos and, after baseball, had a 25-year career with the FBI. He notes his mother, twin brother, and grandparents, Jim & Carolyn Britton are “the best people I know…wouldn’t be here without them.” Enjoys traveling, family time, fitness, nutrition and making YouTube videos.
