High School--He was widely considered to be one of the top national players in the 2013 recruiting class, including interest from at least five other Pac-12 schools. As a senior playing for coach Dave Quintal, he earned team, league and Western Athletic Conference most valuable player honors, leading Central Catholic to an undefeated season and the CIF Section IV Championship. In that event, he was the individual medalist (3-under 68). He was also the individual champion in several events, including the in the John Montano Invitational at Merced Golf & Country Club (a 5-under 67) and the WAC Midseason Tournament (2-under 70). He could not compete as a junior in 2011-12, due to California state transfer rules. As a freshman and sophomore, he attended Ripon (Calif.) High, where he was the only two-time most outstanding and most valuable player in the school’s history. He earned player of the year and all-conference honors as a freshman and sophomore, when he averaged 71.85 and 70.89 strokes per round, respectively.
Other--2013: He tied for 86th but missed the cut in the Southwest Amateur (79-74-153). 2012: He was named the Junior Golf Association of Northern California (JGANC) Player of the Year. He won the U.S. Junior Amateur Qualifier at Stanford by six strokes (64-70-134), reaching the round of 64 in the national event. He was 10th in the Eddie Hogan Cup (74-75-149), helping Northern California defend its title in Portland, Ore. (Riverside Golf & Country Club). He finished 11th in the Junior America’s Cup (72-70-72-214 at BanBury Golf Club in Eagle, Idaho, helping the Northern California team to a second straight win). He also won the JGANC NorCal Players Championship and the Tournament of Champions. 2011: He had runner-up finishes in the Junior America’s Cup (71-70-72-213 at Hiwan Golf Club in Evergreen) and in the Eddie Hogan Cup (72-73-145 at Portland’s Riverside G&CC), leading Northern California to the team win in both events. He qualified for the U.S. Junior Amateur and reached the round of 64. He was the San Francisco City Junior Champion, winning the match play event for the seventh straight year, becoming just the seventh player to do so in the 83-year history of the event. 2010: San Francisco City Junior Champion (match play).

Academics--He was interested in majoring in Business at Colorado. He earned Scholar-Athlete honors as a senior.
Personal--He was born September 8, 1994 in Seattle, Wash. His hobbies include playing basketball and music. An older brother, Jason, played baseball at Grand Canyon; an aunt (Susan Bonner) played basketball at Illinois; and a grandfather (Gordon Bonner) was a gymnast at Washington.
