College—2015-16 (Sr.)—He played in two tournaments, both as an individual, posting a 76.00 stroke average; he was in position to graduate in December and opted to earn his degree and complete his collegiate career.  His best round was a second round even-par 72 in CU’s Simpson Invitational.

2014-15 (Jr.)—He saw action in seven of CU’s 11 tournaments, posting a 77.05 stroke average for the year (21 rounds); he was CU’s sixth man for the Pac-12 Championships and was pressed into action the night before the team left for the NCAA Central Regional, penciled in at the No. 5 slot when Ethan Freeman fell ill.  He finished 66th in the Pac-12s (307, +27), but his second and third round scores (72-70, or plus-2) tied for 19th in the field over those 36 holes.  He couldn’t get untracked in the regional however, struggling to a 260 (+44), which essentially inflated his stroke average for the year by over a stroke-and-a-half.  He had warmed up for both meets with 219 (+3) effort in Wyoming’s Cowboy Classic, where he played as an individual.  He played in four tournaments in the fall, three as an individual, posting a 75.64 stroke average for 11 rounds of competition.  His best finish was a tie for 50th in the Air Force Falcon Invitational (224, +8), also where he first recorded his best single round of the year, a 1-under 71 (he matched it in the Wyoming event).  In the fall, he had a subpar/par percentage of 74.2, fourth best on the team, a number eventually finishing at 68.5 for the year.  His best “breakdown” figure was a solid middle round average of 74.58.

2013-14 (Soph.): He competed in six tournaments, four in the fall and two in the spring.  He had played just once after the semester break, as an individual in the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate, scoring three straight 72s for a 216 to tie for 36th.   He was then pressed into action for the Pac-12 Championships after CU’s roster thinned due to defections, and he shot a 23-over par 311 to tie for 56th; but his second and third round scores of 76 and 74 were important for CU’s eventual fourth place finish in the meet, in which he played the par-3 holes 13th-best in the field at 2-over.  In the fall, he opened with his best career finish when it counted toward team scoring, a tie for 16th at the Air Force Miranda Invitational (+1, 69-77-71—217).  Later in the semester he recorded his first 54-hole tournament under par, tying for 22nd at the Alister Mackenzie Invitational (-1, 73-70-72—215).  He owned a 75.17 strokes average for his 12 rounds in the fall.

2012-13 (Fr.-RS): He worked his way into the regular travel squad rotation during the spring, participating in seven of the nine tournaments after winter break.  His best finish was in the Wyoming Cowboy Classic, tying for 11th in the individual format event (+1, 217 which included a final round 69).   His other top finish came in the Cal-Irvine Anteater Invitational, where he tied for 24th (+13, 229).  He was one of CU’s six scorers for the Pac-12 Championships, placing 63rd overall with an 81-74-78-75—308 (+28) scorecard.  He played in two fall tournaments, tying for 14th in the Ballyneal Challenge, an individual tournament, and 35th in the CU-Mark Simpson Invitational (71-72-75—218, where his rounds did not count toward CU’s team scoring).  For the year, he scored 58 birdies and 260 pars in his 468 holes.

2011-12 (Fr.) —The coaching staff decided to redshirt him in his true freshman season, though he still competed in all team practices and tournament qualifiers.

High School—He lettered three times in golf under coach Angelo DeJulio, placing 10th in the state meet as a senior after claiming runner-up honors as a junior (with a 6-under 138 total that included a 66 in the first round).  As a senior, he captured regional champion honors ahead of the state meet.  He earned first-team All-Southwestern Conference honors his sophomore through senior years, and was a first-team All-State and All-Colorado performer as a junior (honorable mention as a senior).  He owns the Montrose record for individual wins (four) as well as the number of consecutive tournaments using his score (32).  He placed in the top 10 in every tournament he appeared in as junior and senior and had 30-plus career top 10 efforts as a prep.  He also lettered twice in baseball (catcher/designated hitter) as a freshman and sophomore.

Other—2015: He tied for 11th in the Colorado Golf Association’s Western Chapter Championship with a 79-72—151 (+7) effort at Battlement Mesa Golf Club.  He tied for 72nd in the Saguaro Amateur in Arizona (83-74-70—227, +11) to open the year.  2014: He tied for 10th in the CGA Western Chapter Championship, carding a 77-70—147 (+5) at The Bridges Golf & Country Club in Montrose.  He tied for 90th in the inaugural Saguaro Amateur, held in Arizona over winter break (77-79-79—235).  2013: He won the CGA Western Chapter Championship held in Montrose, shooting 69-70—139 (3-under) at The Bridges; he chipped in from about 15-feet on No. 18 after starting the hole two strokes out of the lead.  He shot a 70 in U.S. Open Local Qualifying at Heritage at Westmoor to advance to Sectionals in Newport Beach.  He tied for 111th but missed the cut in the Southwest Amateur (76-80—156).  2012: A member of the Colorado Cup team (he went 1-1 in his matches).  He tied for third in the CGA’s Western Chapter Championship at Battlement Mesa GC in Parachute, four strokes out of first 73-70—143 (-1).  2011: He qualified for the U.S. Amateur, shooting a 67-69—136 at Heritage Eagle Bend, finishing second overall and three out of the lead.  Then in late August in the rain-plagued main event with a 315-man field, he tied for 260th at Blue Mound G&CC in Erin Hills, Wis., with a 77-76—153 (+11).  He finished second in the CGA Western Chapter Championship at Tiara Rado GC in Grand Junction, three out of the lead with a 69-70—139 (-3) effort.  He reached the round of 32 in his first CGA Match Play Championship (at Bear Creek GC).  He tied for 63rd in the Western Junior (Beverly CC, Chicago), carding a 74-79-78-77—308 (+20).  He shot the course record of 63 (31-32; 9-under) at his home course, The Links at Cobble Creek, in a non-tournament round.  2010: He finished 11th in the AJGA (American Junior Golf Association) Aspen Golf Classic.  Other Years: He also fared well in AJGA, FCWT and IJCT summer competitions, including a win in the 2010 FCWT event at TPC Las Vegas and a runner-up effort in the 2009 FCWT event at The Ridge at Castle Pines.  He also tied for second in the 2010 Rocky Mountain Open and finished fifth in July’s CGA Western Chapter.

Best Career Round In Competition— 66 (-6; October 2009, Colorado State 4A High School Championship, Highlands Ranch GC)

Academics—He graduated with a degree Business (Management) from Colorado in December 2015.  He was a member of Montrose’s Honor Roll all eight semesters in high school, when he garnered Academic All-State accolades on three occasions (he graduated with a 3.93 grade point average).

Personal— He was born July 22, 1993 in Colorado Springs.  His hobbies include fly-fishing, hiking and working out.  Father (Mike) played baseball at Northern Colorado, and pitched five years in the major leagues (Boston, Seattle, Detroit).
