Bio
College—2025-26 (Fr.): He tied for 42nd in his first collegiate tournament, Washington State’s Palouse Collegiate, where after an opening 73, he shot a par-71 and then his first subpar round (1-under 70).
High School—He was a three-time, first-team All-State performer (second-team as a freshman) and a four-time, first-team All-Jeffco League selection … The state’s 3A champion as a senior, posting a four-stroke win with a 9-under par 67-68—135 effort at Walking Stick GC in Pueblo; he had nine birdies and 27 pars over the two days (no bogeys). He led Evergreen to its second straight state crown, this time in 3A competition (by 17 strokes at that); the Cougars won the 4A title his junior season at Bridges Golf Course in Montrose (when he finished as the runner-up with a 1-under 141) … In the process, he became the first player to win the Jeffco League medalist honors four times … He completed the 3A trifecta as a senior, in addition to winning the state and league crowns, he also won the 3A Region 2 title (7-under 64 at Fox Hollow) – it all added up to an outstanding senior season, as he either won or shared the title in all eight school events in which he competed; In nine competitive rounds, he shot in the 60’s all times (66 or lower six times), with a low of 63 and a high of 69 … His stroke average as a senior was an incredible 65.8, which completed a succession if improvements since his freshman year (70.9), through his sophomore (70.6) and junior (69.8) seasons.
Other—2025: Won the RLX Ralph Lauren Junior Classic, winning five of six matches and winning 44 holes and tying just five without losing one in the quarterfinals, semifinals and finals combined on the Black Course at Bethpage State Park … A member of Team Colorado that finished third in the Junior America’s Cup in Portland (he placed 21st individually with a 5-over 77-68-73—218 effort) … Tied for fifth in the PGA High School National Invitational at Pinehurst, N.C. (72-67-69--208, -8) ... That started a run of top 10 finishes in 30 of 31 events, which included six wins, nine runner-up and 22 top five efforts).

Personal—He was born February 10, 2007 in Denver … Hobbies include skiing and playing pickleball and tennis … Two cousins played college football: Joe Files at Michigan (tight end), and Danny Files at Valparaiso (offensive line); an uncle, Bob Files, played college baseball at Michigan State … He is the second Evergreen High graduate to play for the Buffaloes; Mick Brethower spent a year with the team as a senior in 1983-84 after transferring from the University of Arkansas … He committed to the Buffaloes in November of his junior year.
