Career at Colorado—Dengerud slowly improved throughout his first season in 2019 and it culminated in him winning the Individual NCAA and Individual RMISA Championships in the freestyle discipline. He earned two All-America honors, also taking home a second-team honor in the classic race after finishing ninth at the NCAA Championships.  He finished all 12 races and brought home top 10 finishes 10 times, including each of the last nine races of his freshman season.  He earned four top five finishes includine three podiums and two races wins, both in the post season. He currently has one season of eligibility remaining. 

2019 (Freshman)—Dengerud saved his best for last in his freshman season, winning both the NCAA Individual Championship and the RMISA Individual Championship in the freestyle discipline, his first two career race victories.  He finished all 12 races on the season and brought home top 10 finishes a total of 10 times, including each of the last nine races of the season.  He earned two All-America honors, first-team for his win in the freestyle race and a second-team honor after finishing ninth in the classic race.  He was named first-team All-RMISA and was named CU's Male Athelte of the Year (all sports) and given the ski team's Dick Schenberger Award as Team MVP.  He also took care of business in the classroom, earning a 4.0 GPA in the fall which enabled him to be a part of the National Collegaite All-Academic Ski Team and he was on CU's 4.0 Club and named CU's Academic Student-Athelte of the Month for February 2019.  After finishing 23rd and 13th in two races early in the season at CU and Montana State, he slowly began to improve, taking eighth in the other race at Montana State before finishing sixth and seventh in the races at New Mexico and fourth and sixth at Alaska Anchorage to close uot the regular season.  He then won the freestyle race and was third in the classic race at the RMISA Championships and one the freestyle and was ninth at the NCAA Championships.  All three of his podium appearances came in the post season.  He was the Buffs top men's Nordic qualifier for the NCAA Championships, fourth overall and seeded third in freestyle and eighth in classic. 

Prior To CU—He has competed for the Kjelsas ski team in Oslo since about 2003 and has been skiing in FIS sanctioned races since 2012.  He has skied in the Norwegian National Championships since 2015 with 14 total starts.  He finished 27th in 2018 in Vang in the 15K freestyle race.  Has two top 10 finishes at the Norwegian Junior National Championships, an eighth place in Lillehammer in 2013 in the 15K freestyle and a 10th place finish in the 20K freestyle race in 2015 at Hommelvik.  He has 17 starts and 15 finishes on the Scandinavian Cup tour between 2015-18.  Overall in FIS sanctioned races, he's competed more than 80 times, finishing all but five races and has compiled eight top 10 finishes. 
 
Highschool—Dengerud graduated from Wang High School in Oslo in 2014. 
 
In the Classroom—Dengerud is interested in majoring in Mathematics at Colorado.  He's interested in numbers and statistics and a career goal is to work in data science and statistics.
 
Personal—Erik Olsvik Dengerud was born June 13, 1995, in Oslo.  His parents are Ellen and Terje, and he has one sister, Karianne, who is a member of the Norwegian National Ski Team.  He's interested in anything outdoors and sports in general and claims he can play chess blindfolded.   
 
Why Colorado—"Colorado is a good school with a good ski team. Great surroundings. I also knew some of the skiers on the team."
