At Colorado: 2023 (Freshman)—In his lone season on the CU ski team, Kohlhofer finished five of his 11 races with a best of 29th in slalom at the RMISA Championships and top GS finish of 35th, accomplished twice.  He lettered for the Buffaloes.  

Prior To College—He skied for Ski Club Vail since 2015. He has skied in FIS-sanctioned races since the 2020-21 season and has 45 top 30 finishes in those races including 17 top 10 finishes, three in 2021 and 14 in 2022, and three podium appearances, one in 2021 and two in 2022.  He has 10 North American Cup starts to his credit with two top 30 finishes, both at Copper Mountain in slalom races.  At the 2022 Junior National Championships at Vail, he finished second in the GS and fourth in the slalom races.  He also skied as an independent skier on the RMISA circuit the past two seasons and had a best finish of 24th in slalom and 39th in GS, both at Park City in 2022.  

High School—He graduated from Vail Ski & Snowboard Academy in 2022.  He was on the honor roll all four years of high school.  He played varsity soccer, lacrosse and football, earning letters in each.  

In The Classroom—He is currently in the exploratory studies program at CU and plans to pursue a degree in Strategic Communication with a minor in Business. 

Personal—Sebastian Kohlhofer was born Jan. 30, 2004, in Vail, Colo.  His father is from Austria and his mother is from California.  He has one sister, who is currently in medical school at Colorado Mesa University.  He grew up playing lacrosse, soccer and football, but he lists skiing as his favorite thing to do. 

Why Colorado?—”I’ve always wanted to go here ever since I was a little kid. Growing up in Colorado, I have always looked up to the kids at CU Boulder, and wanted to be like them. I am so excited for the next four years here and can’t wait for the experiences to come.”
