Bio
At the University of Vermont—She was on the Vermont Ski Team for the past four seasons from 2020-23 and skied in three of them, opting out of the 2021 season. She finished her career there finishing 33 of possible 35 races with 25 of those 33 finishes in the top 20, 11 in the top 10 and nine in the top five including eight podium appearances and one race win. She was at her best in 2023 when in six slalom races ahead of the NCAA Championships, she finished with five podiums, four third place and one win at the Bates Carnival. Her lowest slalom result was eighth. Unfortunately, she did not finish the second run at the NCAA Championships that year, but was third after the first run and in line for a first-team All-America honor before her DNF. She took 18th in the GS race two days earlier. She was the slalom leader out of the EISA in 2023. After taking the 2021 season off, she took her slalom skiing to the next level as in 2022 she was also solid with five finished races all in the top nine and all but one in the top four with three podium appearances. Since the start of 2022, she has finished 11 of 12 slalom races, all in the top nine with eight podiums appearances and a race win.
Prior To College—She skied for the Ski and Snowboard Club Vail from 2011-19 under coach Mark Smith. She had two podiums at Junior National Championships. She also competed on the World Pro Ski Tour in 2022 and took second place in the Aspen event. Entering CU, she is ranked second in the US for slalom for her age group and 12th overall in slalom in the United States. She won the Steamboat Holiday Classic overall title in 2021.
High School—She graduated from Vail Ski and Snowboard Academy in Minturn, Colo., in 2019.
In the Classroom—She is attaining her Master’s of Business Analytics at Colorado after graduation from the University of Vermont in 2023 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a minor in Computer Science.
Personal—Her birthday is June 25 and she was born in Vail, Colo., and her parents are Matt and Elena Jones. He dad played football at Ole Miss. She has one younger brother, Marshall. She enjoys computer coding and would like to be a data analyst after college. She enjoys biking, hiking, paddle boarding, reading, playing cards and going to see live music. She is scuba certified.
Why CU—”The MBA program offered here was a great opportunity to continue to ski close to home. It will be so cool to represent my home state this year.”
