Krista Hansen is in her first year as the tutor coordinator for the University of Colorado’s Herbst Academic Center, joining the Buffaloes’ staff in the fall of 2016.
 
She oversees the daily operations of the tutoring program and is responsible for the recruitment, hiring and supervision of the tutoring staff to support student-athletes across all majors. Hansen develops and implements tutor trainings in regards to skill development, NCAA regulations and Herbst Academic Center policies.
 
Hansen came to Colorado from San Jose State, where she served as an athletic academic support coordinator for the 2015-16 school year. Prior to her year in San Jose, Hansen spent two years at Arizona State as a community director.
 
Hansen received her bachelor’s degree in public relations from the University of Akron in 2010. She was a four-year letterwinner for the softball team, playing second base for the Zips. Hansen earned her master’s of Business Administration from Defiance College (Ohio) in 2013.
 
A native of Arlington, Wash., Hansen is married to Lindsay Luzania, the Herd Program manager for the CU Boulder Alumni Association.
