2014 (Freshman)—Johansson joined the Buffs just prior to the 2014 season and was immediately thrown into competition.  He skied in all 10 races prior to the NCAA Championships and finished in the top 20 in all 10 races.  His best meet was the RMISA Championships, where he finished 11th in the classic race and 15th in the freestyle race, both his best performance of the season.  His other top 15 finish was a 12th place finish at the Montana State Invitational.

Club— Johansson competed with IK Jarl in Rattvik, Sweden, for 17 years. Most recently in 2013, he won the 1K freestyle sprint final at West Yellowstone Super Tour.  He finished fifth in a Sprint Final race in Tianshan Tianchi, Xinjiang, China and also finished sixth in a freestyle sprint in Xiwuqi, Inner Mongolia, China, both in January 2013.

High School— Johansson graduated from St. Miakelsskolan in Mora, Dalarna, Sweden, in June 2010.

In the Classroom— Johansson is planning to major in Civil Engineering and is also interested in architecture.

Personal— Hans Emil Johansson was born January 18, 1991 in Rattvik, Sweden to Hans and Helen Johansson.  He is interested in soccer, music and surfing and aspires to compete in the World Championships after he graduates.  He chose Colorado because it’s a “great school, a great ski team near amazing nature.”
