Prior to CU—Moch competed for WSV Isny in Germany for 14 seasons and has been a member of the German Junior National Team since 2023. He was the overall German Champion in distance skiing in 2025 and comes to CU with 66.32 FIS distance points, ranked among the top 250 in the world. On the international stage, Moch earned a bronze medal in the 10K freestyle, a fourth-place finish in the 20K classic, and fifth in the 4x5K relay at the 2025 Junior World Championships. He previously competed at the 2024 Youth Olympic Games in Korea, where he won the 7.5K classic race, placed second in the freestyle sprint, and helped Germany to victory in the 4x5K relay. At the German National Championships, he placed third in the 15K classic and sixth in the 10K freestyle in 2025, and earlier finished fifth in the 10K freestyle and fourth in the 10K classic in 2023. In all, Moch collected 11 race wins across Junior, FIS, and Youth Olympic competition, and had 18 career podium appearances heading into his collegiate career.

High School—He graduated from Gymnasium Isny in Isny, Germany, in 2024.    
 
In the Classroom—He is interested in majoring in Business at Colorado. He is interested in learning more about economics.
 
Personal—Full name is Jakob Elias Moch.  Birthday is February 21 and he was born in Kempten, Germany. His parents are Anette and Alexander Moch. His brother is a professional skier.
