At Colorado: 2024 (Freshman)—Sarchett made the most of his only season skiing on the college circuit and in his one season he finished seven of 10 races with six top 20, four top 10 and two top 5 finishes including one race win.  He won the men’s GS race at the Utah Invitational in his fourth career race.  His best slalom finish was fourth place at the RMISA Championships to dramatically improve his seeding for the NCAA Championships.  There after a DNF in GS action, a race he easily could have won, he took an all-important eighth place in the slalom race to keep the Buffs within striking distance following slalom action.  The Buffs needed every point as the team pulled off the second-largest final-day comeback in NCAA history to win the team title by just two points, the smallest margin under the current scoring system. He earned second-team All-America honors for his slalom race at NCAAs, was named second-team All-RMISA, took home CU Athlete of the Week honors and won the team’s Spencer Nelson Award.  He was also named to the National All-Academic Ski Team.

Prior To CU—He skied for the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation team and the US Ski Team for the last several years.  In 2021, he was ranked second in the US for all skiers born in his birth year.  He was the Junior National Champion in the GS in 2023 and made the World Juniors team in both 2022 and ‘23 and earned a North American Cup (Nor-Am) podium.  He was also the Whistler Cup Champion as part of SVSEF.  In all, he has almost 60 starts in continental cup races, mostly North American but also on the European Cup and Australian New Zealand Cup circuits.  He has also skied in multiple National Championship competitions since 2020 for the US, Canada and Italy and took eighth at the Canadian National Championships in the GS in 2023and 11th at the US National Championships in the same discipline.  In all he has 70 top 30 finishes in FIS sanctioned races including 29 top 10 performances and 11 podium appearances, which includes four race victories.

Personal—His birthday is July 28 and he was born in Ketchum, Idaho.  His parents are Jeff and Dorothy Sarchett.  His dad was a professional skier and bike racer.  He has one younger sister, Josie.  He enjoys hiking and would like to ski professionally after college.
