Career at Colorado—Lacy is entering his sophomore season, adding depth to one of the top men’s Nordic squads in the country in his hometown. He has eight races to his credit with a pair of top 20 finishes.
2011 (Freshman)—Lacy steadily improved throughout his freshman campaign from turning in a 32nd and 27th place finishes in the classical and freestyle, respectively, in the season’s first meet at Montana State, to bringing home a 19th and 22nd place by season’s end at the RMISA Championships. He had two top 20 finishes, one in each discipline, his 19th place classical performance coming at the league championships and his 20th place freestyle finish at the Utah Invitational. He did not participate in the New Mexico Invitational. Academically, he earned mention on the Division I National All-Academic Ski Team for maintaining above a 3.5 grade point average.
Club—Lacy participated on the Boulder Junior Nordic ski team from 2002-10 and he compiled three top 10 finishes at three different Junior Olympics, including fifth in the 5K in Anchorage, seventh in the 1K in Maine and ninth in the 15K in Truckee, Calif.
High School—Lacy graduated from Boulder High School in 2010 where he was a member of the cross country team for four years and as a senior he was part of the state championship team.
In the Classroom—Lacy intends to major in civil engineering at Colorado.
Personal—Spencer Lacy was born January 1, 1992, in Boulder and is the son of Gary and Leslie Lacy. He enjoys kayaking and mountain biking and his favorite food is Illegal Pete’s. He chose Colorado because he loves Boulder.
