2004? In his first season in Boulder, Damrow competed in eight races, finishing all but the freestyle at the Utah Invitational a day after a career-best 16th place finish in the 10k classical race where he scored as CU’s third skier. Two meets later he turned in a career best 17th place freestyle effort in CU’s own invitational and combined with a 20th place classical finish, turned in his best overall weekend.  As one of 12 members of the U.S. Junior team delegation he qualified for the World Junior Championships in February when he won the 30k classic at the U.S. Nationals in a time of 1:27.07, defying rain, hail and snow over the 7.5-kilometere loop on the Chisholm Ski Club course in Rumsford, Maine.  He also finished fifth two days later in the 10k freestyle race.  At the Championships in Stryn, located on the west coast of Norway, he skied the first leg of the US’s 4x10k relay which finished 17th and he finished 68th in the 30k classic in a time of 1:43:58.

High School? A five-time letterwinner in nordic skiing at Roseville Area, Damrow was a four-time all-conference and all-state pick as a freshman, junior and senior was the Section 3 AAA Award winner recognizing excellence in academics, the arts and athletics.  He was a two-time runner-up in the state meet.

Damrow ran in two state meets for Roseville Area’s cross country team. 

Other? He finished fifth in the 15k classic and 13th in the 10k freestyle at the 2002 J1 U.S. Junior Nationals in McCall, Idaho and a year later finished sixth in the 10k classic and 15th in the 15k freestyle at the J1 U.S. Junior Nationals in Fairbanks, Alaska.  In 2004 he was the Junior Olympic 10k freestyle runner-up and finished 10th in the 15k classic in Lake Placid.

Academics? Damrow is an open option major at Colorado with a 3.547 grade point average.

Personal? Born August 31, 1985 in Minneapolis, Timothy James Damrow is the son of Paul and June Damrow of Roseville, Minn.  His older sister Kelly is a senior on Gustavus Adolphus College’s (St. Paul, Minn.) ski team.  His hobbies include mountain and road biking and playing ultimate frisbee.
