Prior to CU—Bentley trained with the Ski and Snowboard Club Vail for five years (2020–25), where he was coached by Eric Pepper and Lenka Sterling. During his time with SSCV, he earned the Gaynor Miller Award three times. He competed at the U.S. National Championships from 2023–25, highlighted by a 35th-place finish in the 10K freestyle at Kincaid Park in 2025. Bentley owns two FIS race victories—a 10K freestyle at the Trail Creek Nordic Center in 2025 and a 10K classic at Lake Creek Nordic Center in 2022. He has recorded seven total podium finishes, including three at the 2025 Junior National Championships in Soldier Hollow. He comes to CU with 91.81 FIS distance points.

High School—He graduated from Vail Ski and Snowboard Academy in 2025. He won an award in high school for building a 3D bioprinter and his research has gotten a grant.  

In the Classroom—He is interested in studying Integrative Physiology at Colorado and plans to study on a Pre-Med track. 
 
Personal—His birthday is January 30 and he was born in Frisco, Colo.   His parents are Kim and Karl Bentley.  His goal after college is to win a national championship.  He enjoys biking, skiing, running, climbing and playing pickleball.
