FRESHMAN (2018): Groark had an impressive debut season with the Buffaloes. She helped CU set records in points, goals and assists. Groark recorded nine points, playing in 19 matches. She recorded her first point with an assist in CU’s opener at Air Force. She tallied the first goal in CU’s 6-0 win at Oregon State. Groark cracked the starting lineup against UTSA and stayed in the starting XI for the remainder of the season. She played a season-high 80 minutes in CU’s win over overtime win over Washington. Groark finished second on the team and ninth in the Pac-12 with seven assists.

OLYMPIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM: Groark was a part of the Missouri ODP Team in 2012. She has been part of the ECNL PDP ID camp from 2015-17.
 
HIGH SCHOOL: Groark graduated from Incarnate Word Academy in 2018 and was a four-year letterwinner for coach Beth Sims. As a senior, she had 22 goals and 11 assists to be named All-America by the United Soccer Coaches, Class 3 first-team all-state and state co-offensive player of the year. She also guided Incarnate Word Academy to the state championship game. As a sophomore and junior, she was named Class 3 Regional Player of the Year and was named all-state both years, while being an all-conference selection all four seasons. As a junior as an attacking midfielder, she had 13 goals and 10 assists. She had 18 goals and 12 assists as a forward during her sophomore year. She also led Incarnate Word to be the Class 3 District champion each of her four seasons, including three trips to the state tournament semifinals. She was ranked No. 38 in the IMG Top 150 of the 2018 class and is a four-star recruit by Top Drawer Soccer.
 
CLUB TEAM: Groark has played for St. Louis Scott Gallagher for 11 years. She led the team to the ECNL Midwest Conference championship for U-17, while qualifying for the ECNL Champions League after going undefeated in conference play. St. Louis Scott Gallagher also qualified for the ECNL Champions League during her year with U-15 and was the ECNL Showcase Division champion when she was with U-16. She was coached by Ralph Richards.
 
IN THE CLASSROOM: She is undecided on her major.
 
PERSONAL: Emily Christine Groark was born on April 12, 2000, in St. Louis and is the daughter of Kevin and Margarita Groark. Her father is a team sales manager at Soccer Master and her mother is the vice president of Asset Management at Keefe Group. Her younger brother Jacob also plays soccer. Groark enjoys listening to music and hanging out with friends and family. She volunteers annually for a Cystic Fibrosis walk in the memory of a friend. She is of Hispanic descent as her grandfather is from Bogota, Colombia. Her entire family has been involved in soccer at a high level as both of her parents, several cousins, and her uncle have played collegiate soccer, and her father and uncle both played professionally. She chose CU because of the campus, coaches, academics and athletics.
