SOPHOMORE (2006): Manthey played in all 24 games with 12 starts as a defender, helping the Buffs to the third round of the NCAA Tournament and the Big 12 Tournament final. She started the first 12 matches of the season before moving to a reserve role. Her lone assist on the season came in a 5-1 win over Clemson on Sept. 1.
 
FRESHMAN (2005): Manthey scored her lone goal of the season in Colorado’s season opener against Vanderbilt, a 2-1 CU victory. She saw action in 22 of CU’s 24 games, starting two. She had nine shots on the season, including four on goal.

HIGH SCHOOL: Was the 2005 IMG Academy Player of the Year, IMG won the 2004 and ?05 Coaches Directors League (CDL) titles and the Orange Classic in Miami in 2004 and ’05. A year ago IMG was the HC United Tournament finalist.
 
IN THE CLASSROOM: The 18-year-old three-year honor roll student graduated a year early from high school to attend CU. Manthey is a declared sociology major and maintained a 3.3 GPA her freshman year. She also earned recognition for her grades as she was named to the Fall and Spring 2006 Big 12 Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

PERSONAL: Born July 22, 1988 in Bellingham, Wash., Megan Lee Manthey is the daughter of Randy and Laura Manthey of Ferndale. Her brother, Grant, is a midfielder for the Colorado School of Mines soccer team.
