HIGH SCHOOL: Johnson left her high school in San Diego as the school record holder in both hurdle races and the 4x100 and 4x400 relays. She ran sub-14 in the 100-meter hurdles with a personal best of 13.81 as a sophomore in 2014. She is also a 12-second 100-meter runner with a PR of 12.12. In the 300-meter hurdle race she ran 41.30 as a junior as well as sub 56-second 400 with a best of 55.84. She won the state prelims in the 300 hurdles.

PERSONAL: Johnson is the daughter of Harold Nelson and Juanita Ezell-Nelson. She is majoring in communications.
