2008: Maul continued to concentrate on the 200 and 400-meter dashes during the indoor and outdoor season. During the indoor season, she recorded prs in both events at the conference championship (at sea level). She took 22nd overall in the 200 (25.65) and 14th in the 400 (57.81). Maul was also a part of the distance medley relay for the Buffs at conference. They finished with a time of 11:54.95. Maul competed at the Michael Johnson Invite and did very well in both events. She took fifth overall in the 200 (25.30) and was seventh in the 400 (57.33). Maul ran both at Big 12s. She was 19th in the prelims of the 200 and took 14th in the prelims of the 400. Maul was the first leg in CU’s 4x400-meter relay that finished in 3:45.35 at Big 12s.

2007: Maul competed in various sprint events during both the indoor and outdoor seasons. In indoor competition she ran the 200, 400 and 600-meter races and set personal records in all three events. In the 200 she set her pr at the Iowa State Classic with a time of 26.26, while her highest finish came at the Don Barrett Open where she placed 10th. In the 400 Maul set her pr at the Big 12 Indoor meet with a time of 57.64. Maul competed in the 600 at the Potts Indoor Invite and set a pr of 1:30.91, earning her a second-place finish. During the outdoor season Maul continued to improve in both the 200 and 400, while also competing in the 100 at one meet. She set new pr’s in both the 200 and 400 with times of 25.07 and 55.80 respectively.  Her pr in the 400 earned her a second place finish at the Wyoming Invite. At the Air Force Twilight Invite Maul placed second in the 100, with a pr time of 12.83.

2006: Maul participated in two meets during the indoor campaign. At the Joe Davies Open, she took eighth in the 200-meter run (28.20) and was 17th in the 60-meter run (8.39). She improved her time in the 200 to 27.07 at the Air Force Invite. During the outdoor campaign, she competed in the 100, 200 and 400-meter runs. Maul took 11th in 100 at the Sun Angel Classic (12.97). She earned a personal best of 25.81 in the 200 at the Tom Benich Classic and took eighth overall. She placed 21st in the prelims at outdoor conference championships with a time of 25.99. In the 400, Maul ran a pr (59.51) at Big 12’s, placing 23rd.

HIGH SCHOOL: A four-year letter winner for the Kadets, Maul was a state qualifier in ’04 and ’05. She qualified in the sprint relay as a junior and the 200 and 4x100 as a senior. Maul was honored as the team MVP her final season. She recorded a first-place finish at the Colorado Springs Metro Meet with a personal record of 26.4 in the 200m.

ACADEMICS: Maul is majoring biochemistry at Colorado. She is a three-time member of the Commissioner’s Honor Roll and owns a 3.631 GPA.

PERSONAL: Veronica Maul was born on December 25, 1986 in Denver. Her parents are Randolph and Michele Maul of Colorado Springs, Colo. Her mother was a swimmer at the University of Denver. Maul is mostly blind in one eye. She has worked at the Colorado Renaissance Festival and was the student director for “Montage,” a variety show at Air Academy. Maul enjoys rock climbing and singing.
